We are flying Air Tran when we go to WDW in Oct. I had a few questions about this airline. Do they provide a drink or snack on the flight? Are there TVs? (I assume there are). If so, how are they arranged (each seat, each row, etc...).
Yes, when we flew Air Tran they provided a snack and a drink. I think they only have the telephones that you can call if you wanted too. I don't remember seeing TV's. I'm not for sure though.

i only fly air tran to WDW (but sadly they've merged with southwest and no longer fly from my home airport--boo!) they are VERY basic--small planes, small seats, no tvs. but the flight crew has always been REALLY nice and the flights are always on time (or early) and the fares are super low. so i have no complaints (other than the fact that i can't fly with them anymore!)
Last time I flew was in Sept down to WDW and I'm almost 99.999% sure I paid for snack/beverage. It's obviously easier to bring your own aboard & cheaper! No tv, no phone.
A lot of people bring their own electronics--laptops, ipods, ipads, etc. I'm happy with a magazine myself & my daughter works on her homework on the flight down. The flight home again I'm content with a magazine & my daughter is ALWAYS passed out sleeping. I really keep her moving in WDW! lol
They do have minimal snacks-drink and tiny pack of pretzels or such. I think they may be the airline I"ve flown that has additional snacks available for purchase. No TV's, but excellent service overall.
Another person to confirm no TV's. But they have satellite radio (you have to have your own headphones), small drink and small snack that was pretzels last time I flew them.
I pretty much only fly Airtran to MCO. They seem to have the best price for me.
I'm looking forward to trying Southwest when they start flying to MCO out of the Atlanta airport.
I just hope our flight is not affected by the change to Southwest. It's in Oct., so hopefully not.
We'll just bring the personal DVD player for DD to keep her occupied. We chose AirTran because they had the best prices and a nonstop flight with great arrival and departure times.
I love AirTran and I love Southwest. Since the merger, SWA dropped all of our non-stops to Orlando so it'll be AirTran 99% of the time. Very basic service. I tend to bring a bigger bag of snacks, that usually sit unopened. I also tend to buy a Vitawater while in the airport so I can have something besides soda. Love their service.
I've flown airtran quite often, it was the best price and we could get non-stop service. The only problem I've had with them is they changed our flight times to/from FL a few years back. We almost missed our flight to FL which would have been a disaster. On the flight home I called the day before and again they changed the time, to half hour later. Anyway, my advice is to call them or check on-line to make sure your flights are the time they're suppose to be.
Have a great trip! SW+7

My TA said that this is common, so we will definitely make sure to check ahead of time. Did they move your flight up (the one to FL)? Is that why you almost missed it? I am hoping we arrive on time and the flights do not change, especially since we leave at 8:45am (to go to FL).
Yes, Airtran does change times FREQUENTLY. Our return trip has been changed 3 times in two weeks. I have had to change our rental car return times due to this, luckily not resulting in an increased charge . It is getting annoyingly funny. They do send you an email with the time change, but it usually arrives a few days after I discover the change. I tend to check our flight often, and again last night they moved our return time later. That's ok, more Disney time for us!
I do wish they would adopt the free checked bag policy that Southwest has. I am sure that will be one of the last changes to occur once Airtran is fully changed over to Southwest.
