I just called on Friday and made my DME reservations (we are getting standby tickets from a friend that works for an airline and weren't sure what flight we would be on yet), and I received my paperwork and luggage tags in the mail today (we are leaving on Monday, July 2nd).
When I called and made my reservation, the helpful castmember did let me know that if I didn't receive my stuff before I left for my trip, that I could just got to the DME counter at the orlando airport and they would pull up my info. so I had already made the reservation (that I assumed). What I did not know, however, was that she told me that even if the luggage tags didn't arrive to me before I left, when I went to the DME counter in the Orlando airport that I could give them those tags that you get when you check in your luggage and the DME could pull my bags from that info. I always thought that if you didn't have the yellow tags you had to do your luggage yourself.
So anyone out there that doesn't get their paperwork in time, don't worry as long as you have made your reservation they will take care of you and your luggage, regardless of if you have your paperwork in hand or not.
I had this same issue last year my DME paperwork and luggage tag's got to my TA 4 day's before we were leaving, I was a nervous wreck. I wish they got thing's out sooner too!! I also would have my TA call. I had mine call 3 time's last year before getting them
