$139.00 for transportation from the train station to ASMo

I was just looking through my breakdown of costs for the trip we just booked and while I am perfectly aware DME doesn't service the Amtrak station, the CM who booked the trip with us insisted she could do ground transportation for us. I must've jotted the prices down when she told me what they where and didn't give it a second thought... until today. Having turned down insurance for the trip which I always do (I have private insurance) there is 139.00 that is listed for transit (that's on my list) what exactly did I book.. more importantly how can I cancel it???

Well, since you booked through WDW, I would think you could just call back and modify your reservation to eliminate the ground transportation. You're well away from Disney's 45 day "no changes" policy, so I don't see a problem. It should be as simple as a phone call.

Good luck with it!

I'm not really familiar with cost from the train, but that price doesn't seem out of line at all for round-trip transportation to WDW to me. I think it's likely to be a towncar, which really is the best way to get to WDW if you don't have access to DME.

Check with WDTC about what it is and you could ask them to explore other avenues of transportation for you, but I bet that's reasonable.

That price seems reasonable to me as well. Call a few towncar companies and ask what they charge for transportation from the train station to WDW.

I know I recently read another thread about Quicksilver and there were 2 quotes for R/T transfer from MCO - $250 and $320. I just don't remember what size vehicles it was for though

ETA - I gave this info just as a reference for R/T transfers - the $139 from Disney doesn't seem unreasonable

Sounds like either a van shuttle or town car. Using the Mears taxi estimator, it should cost around $35 or wo one way if you can all fit in a regular taxi. It did not give me the option of a taxi van. You could call and ask them about how much it would cost for a taxi van.

I think we paid around $125 round trip from MCO last year for a town car so $139 doesn't seem out of line to me either.

It was late at night and there was 5 drivers with taxis at TTC. It is 10.7 miles to my hotel and the taxi cost $28 plus tip. It is another 7.2 miles to Amtrak on Dakin Road in downtown Kissimmee. $65 each way is reasonable for around here. I once paid over $100 for a cab to bring someone home and it was under 20 miles. Talk wth your agent to make sure that transit means what you think it means.

If Disney is listening wouldn't it be a great idea to have a DME to the Kissimmee station as well as the airport, even if its a smaller bus?

My DW doesn't like fly so we would be in a similar predicament.

If you are really cheap and travelling light you can take the number 4 bus then transfer to the 56 bus. Should be $2 per person unless they charge for the transfer then it is $4 per person.
