Ive never flown a redeye before. We leave at 11pm and will arrive at MCO around 9:30 am the next day. So, on overnight flights is here still beverage service? Food service? Flying Delta, if it matters.
When we flew a Delta redeye from CA to MN there was beverage service, but there may have been all of 6 people awake for it. They dimmed the cabin lights and most of us were asleep by the time we reached altitude.
I haven't seen "food" on an airplane in ages
The flight confirmation usually tells if there is food available for purchase on a flight. In the fare details they usually have a "meal services" link along with the icon for wireless, on demand audio, etc.

We flew a red-eye from CA to WDW in January on Delta. They did offer beverages and they had food for purchase. Since it was so late I don't think many people partook. I've read too many bad things about the ice, coffee and food on airlines to ever be tempted by their offerings.
I would like to suggest that you do online check in if you're staying at a Disney resort. We arrived at the WL at 8:30 in the morning and our room was ready! Kind of nice to freshen up before hitting the parks!
There'll be food service if you fly First Class, but probably not a complete meal. Otherwise, brown bag it, or plan to buy whatever they have on offer. Delta does still have beverage service, and usually a choice between peanuts or molasses crisp cookies (I love those!). On a long flight like that, they may come through twice with beverages.
Here's what I get from the Delta site (bring up your reservation in the system, and there's a link for "Meal Services"
Economy: Complimentary Refreshments and Premium Snacks for Purchase
First/Business: Refreshments
The real trick with a redeye, though, is to get some sleep. I'd rather sleep through beverage service than be awake to enjoy it. Unless, of course, a couple of drinks will put you to sleep.

Thanks for the quick responses. . When we went in 2010 we flew continental but it was not a redeye and they did offer food....well, I think it was supposed to pass for food. It was nasty and as a result we didn't get past the first bite. We had a layover in Houston and planned on getting a bite there but they changed our gate last minute and by the time we made it to the correct gate, there was no time. We arrived at MCO After everything was closed and by the time we got to our resort, we were reduced to finding vending machines. We were starving!!!! I think we will just have to pack some snacks with protein for the flight. Otherwise we won't eat until we get to POR and get checked in. And I don't think I'll be able to really sleep on the plane, some won't have the advantage of fasting like normal.
Can you pack food to take with you? We were wondering that because if we have snack credits left and may want to bring home some treats from Disney. Will they allow it in your carry on?
If that is the case, that may be your best bet, we are flying Delta as well.
Yes, you can carry food in your carry-on. You just can't have "liquids" over a certain size, unless they're in specific categories such as baby formula. In my experience, tough, the tricky thing is defining "liquids"; these can include gels, pastes, lotions, etc. Is Jello a liquid? What about peanut butter? On crackers it seems more solid, but in the little cups for dipping apples, etc, it's really more of a gel consistency.
I always pack snacks to take on the plane, but I choose carefully to avoid anything the security people might interpret as a liquid. If I really feel like I need something liquid-y (like those little cracker packs with the pocket of spreadable cheese--the kids love them!) I make sure it's small enough to be under 3 oz and fit in the liquids bag. (Keep in mind that each flier can have a bag. I divide them up into logical categories--I'll have the meds, DH will have the hand gels etc, the kids might have snacks in theirs.)
In addition to the packed snacks, I always budget for some post-security-check liquids: I plan for us to buy a bottled drink each, even at the exorbitant airport prices; that's easier than juggling the little cups full of ice and waiting 15 years for the cart to arrive when the kids started complaining about being thirsty the minute we boarded the plane!!

Delta's cookies are the best airplane snack out there IMHO. I've been known to fold down my tray table and leave a note for the flight attendant -- If I'm asleep, please leave cookies!
You'll definitely get beverages. One thing I've also found is that they don't like to come through the aisle with the whole beverage cart too often if everyone is mostly asleep, so if you are thirsty you can just walk back to the galley area and they will usually be more than happy to give you a beverage there.

I always learn something new here! I love these--"Ask Mom, she knows everything moments!" Thanks in advance for making me look so smart to my adult children!
I've only flown Delta Once - yes for a reason! But on a couple of other airlines, as long as there is no turbulence and they are not asking flight attendants to stay in their seats, you can ask for a free beverage, if it is after the regular service time. I usually get plain bottled water, no ice.
As long as you don't get something with sauce or Mayo on it it will keep for hours. You can get a foot long and have one half early in the flight and one half later in the flight before you land.
I am unable to sleep on moving vehicles...cars or planes, so I would pack a lot of snacks with me to keep my mouth busy!!
I usually carry a can of Pringles in my carry on tote or purse because the can is sturdy and won't crush like a regular bag of chips would.
