Nope not preachy at all sounds like you are going thru a lot too!!! I aprreciate someone with real understanding and knowledge. It has been a rough year, and this is y we needed a magical getaway. Besides the ankle, she has 2 cysts that will be removed in 3 weeks, its just always been something. This trip is to mark my 3 years of cancer free, so as i tell everyone when it rains it pours and we are out of umbrellas, we walked today and swam also, now she is on ice. frustrating for her, good news is the homecoming dress DOES fit!! We found it for 8.00 last April!!! so we have some moe work to do, like u said I cant say excersise, I call it getting in Disney Mode!!!
thanks everyone, slow rcovery, but everyday is getting better, she walked about a mile yesterday, and swam for 3 hours today shes very swollen, and the weather is bad so we are going to Just Dance for a work out!!!
been there I hope your disney trip special. If u ask there are seats for u to try. call your airlines and they will give u any info u want. have a great and magical time.
Keep up the good work walking and swimming. I know personally how hard it is to loose hormonal weight!! You can't just "eat right" since you did not gain the weight from your diet. All of those meds turn right to fat on you and it does not want to come off. Have fun on your trip.

=) You guys are working so hard! Good for you.
I'm sure things will be fine by the time you go on your trip but since I have no clue how early you would have to book ... Have you looked into renting a ....(drawing a blank for proper name...) scooter for your daughter? Disney is sooo much walking and standing. I'd hate for it to undo all the work she's done.
I thought of this because I remember all too well that a standard wheelchair can be a little snug for Pooh sized people.

I hear ya!!!!! I am overweight and it is not from diet or lack of exercise. It is hormones from PCOS. I follow weight watchers to the letter and do zumba 5 days a week plus walk and can't lose a pound. FRUSTRATING
it is extremely frustrating more so for her than for me. I am old and dont have to deal with peer pressures, and finding cute young clothes for her is impossible, but we are dealing with it one day at a time, ultrasound Friday showing another cyst, going for another opinion before we make any final decisions. I measured her and I and we are both slightly under the seat widths so I am really hoping this wont be an issue. thanks everyone for all the pixies, kind words, and encouragements
I'm POOH size & sit ok in the seat. One time I had to get an extension it was on the way down. On the same airline going home didn't need one. I nicely asked the attendant for one. Very disgretly(sp) she gave me one.
good luck to you & your daughter, sending tons of pixies for you.
I too have trouble walking do to pinched nerve in my leg. I refuse to get a scooter or a wheel chair. I went on line & found a walker rollater that I can walk with & Sit when I want, it also can be pushed my someone. This was the best option for me. I won't feel the need to be pushed all the time. I'm a where I have a problem, I don't need people telling me in a park "IF you lost weight you wouldn't need a scooter. I know I should ignore the rude comments but my shell isn't thick, the only place it is thin
I don't think your concern is dumb at all! In fact, the fact that this comes up under the guise of safety makes me so angry. :/ It's more about airlines packing their planes to their fullest capacity like never before and squeezing in more seats and allowing pooh sized customers to pay the price for it (both literally and metaphorically). This IS discrimination, lets not pretend it's anything else.

I totally know where you are coming from. In 2006 I went to Cedar Point with some friends and I got yelled at and by a employee before I got into line, "You have to try the car out." I was puzzled not knowing who she was talking to (at the time I was only a size 18). She rudely told me I had to try the test seat. It wasn't discrete at all... right in front of all my friends and a handful of strangers. I bust out in tears. I DID fit on the ride with room to spare. I wrote to Cedar Point and they wrote me a rudely worded letter back about how they are looking out for the safety of guests..... blah blah blah. That wasn't the point I was writing about... I just think the employee should have been a bit more sensitive.
BTW you will not have to worry about rides at Disney. They are pooh size friendly.

I think you'll be fine on the plane. My DS fits in one seat and he is really pooh sized. Try to think about the walking as getting ready for Disney. One of the docs I work with literally has a training program he does before he goes to Disney.
Your stories are so encouraging! I've been gaining weight from the combination of my birth control pills and having a desk job. It can get very discouraging to see myself get heavier. But I feel like I could actually get better if I do little things like walk every day.
Does "Just Dance" work? I've been meaning to try it but I was unsure of how fun it was. I'm more of a Dance Dance Revolution person myself.
