Hey!
I've been looking at airfare for a while now, and I found a GREAT rate on Spirit Air flying out of Atlantic City in feb. Even with the baggage fees the rate is at least 100.00 less than anywhere else.
Does anyone have any experience with them?

I've flown them pretty often. Most of the time, by the time you add carry-on luggage fees, seat selection fees, and a long list of "optional" fees that are not optional, their fares can be higher, rather than lower. But, there are deals to be had, especially when offering service to new cities, or resuming seasonal service from some airports (Atlantic City falls into that category). Customer service is nothing special, but not bad, either. Check in and print your boarding passes at home - they're now charging for printing boarding passes at the airport, using the services of check-in agents, and even automated kiosks!

I've not flown with them but I've been tempted. Watch hidden fees. They charge for carry on luggage if you put it in the over head bin, apparently it's no charge if you have something smaller that will sit under your seat. I've heard too many bad stories with them that has prevented me from using them.
Good luck with your decision.
Nope! No way. As a native Floridian now living on the "Jersey Shore" I won't even pay for a beach badge, therefore, I will not pay for all those "options." I also have a child with a disability and can't take a chance on being stranded someplace.
Thank you all for the prompt and informative replies. I'd rather pay a bit extra for the piece of mind.
Only airline I use since it'd nearby for me. I've never had any issues & will pay the extra fees if it means I have a shorter commute, less gas usage & easy in/out traffic wise.
In response to using discounted Spirit Air... I live in the Metro Detroit area and have flown them many times, they do change their schedules frequentley (in fact, our trip in Oct/2012 has changed twice) I'm careful with what I pack and make sure our "extras" fit under the seat. We have not had any problems with getting seats together. Hope you enjoy your Disney trips as much as we do. Counting the days till Oct. and Go Blue!!!
