Has anyone tried these, or any of the other similar products? We're doing a 10 day trip and our condo has laundry in the unit which will let me pack lighter (well, it sounds good, huh?) and I actually had a package of these little things in my hand today. They are little and squishy, and as I looked at them I had visions of them exploding all over inside my suitcase! Yes, we can get them once we're in Orlando, but then I'm going to be stuck figuring out how to take them home- I hate wasting things. Any thoughts?
I pack them for my husband when he travels with the military. I pack them in an old Tupperware container. He's never had any issues with them breaking.

And this is why I love this board. Good idea! I've used the purex 3 in 1 sheets and they worked fine for vacation laundry.
We had an empty Truvia container (hard plastic container with a snap top) and used that to pack our pods (we used All free and clear but same idea) and had no problems at all.
I bring them over from the UK every year, not Tide but the same idea along with softener and dishwasher tabs. Never had any problems. i do double bag them just in case. I hate shopping for boring stuff on holiday and prefer to take as much as possible with me. It also "books" weight in my suitcases which is then free for my fun shopping on the way home.
Good idea on putting them in an old tupperware container - I was just going to double bag them in a ziplock bag, but the container would protect them better.
I also bring the color-block sheets along so I don't have to sort and do so many loads of laundry. They worked awesome the last trip.
I like the Purex 3-in-1 sheets for travel. Often my loads on vacation are smaller than at home, and I can cut a sheet in half and get two loads out of it.
I used a small plastic container to put them in the checked luggage. I took them just in case-have had to do "emergency laundry" on a couple of occasions. Fortunately, they came back in the same container.
i'm trying to remember what the machines are like at the regular resorts... we are at the contemporary. Can we use either the pods or sheets in those machines?

I too am a fan of the Purex sheets (although we can't get them in the UK, I had to buy a pack when visiting my brother in Dallas in 2010). They are lightweight, flat and easy to pack. The only downside is that they smell quite strong, a lovely smell, but easy to transfer to any food items you may be bringing back (and believe you me, I bring back enough grocery items to start up my own store!).
