I am picking up a rental car at MCO for our 5 day trip to WDW during MLK week. The best rate I can find is $150 and I have been looking for a few months. Anyone know of any other great rates now before I search the sites for hours? ;-) I am leary to go with the lesser known companies that are offering slightly lower rates. I have read some reviews and they are iffy.
Thanks

Rental prices have increased the last few years. I think $150 for 5 days during a holiday week is an excellent price. I would book that rate and then see if anything cheaper comes up.
You could always look into what we're thinking of doing - taking DME to Disney and then renting from the Car Care Center. We're not going during a holiday week but for the size car we need, we're saving close to $300 just by picking up at the Car Care Center versus the airport.
ETA - we're going to return the car to the airport though so we don't have to deal with DME back to there.
Priceline. We got a full size car through Priceline, not the name your own price one but the part where you look up the rates and you can see who the car company is. We booked with Advantage rental cars which is the very first rental counter you come to when you get to the lower level of terminal A. Our car cost us $13 a day. There were no hidden fees or extra charges. I will definitely use them again next time we go.
If you want one of the top brand name car companies, during a holiday week, I think you probably found the lowest price you are going to find. I would book that $150 rate.

Agree completely with this. We are renting a car for 10 days in April and by taking DME to the hotel and then renting from the car care center (they will send a car to pick you up) and returning the car to MCO we saved almost $400. It was actually cheaper for us to return the car to the airport and we don't have to worry about DME (every time we have done DME to the airport we've almost missed our flight).
thanks for the tips! I am going with Priceline. Unfortunately, I bid low too many times, so I will have to wait until tomorrow to try again. However, their suggested price is at least $50 less than I would get going through Orlando MagicCard.
Thank you!!

Good luck. We are paying about $150 with Alamo. For the same amount of days, picking up in Ft Lauderdale, and returning to Disney Car Care Centre. I go thru the Costco site. So we have to pay a bit more for one way rentals. Still I thought this was a decent rate. And I like Alamo.
