thinking about taking scenic inland route back from florida to Connecticut.

AAA suggests taking rt 81 inland, have any of you done this, and where are good places to stop?

Re: driving trip to disney oct 23 - nov 13

We take that route every trip down. We have done it 5 times. From FL back we do 95 to SC then route 26 to Route 77 then in VA we pick up Route 81. We stop in Roanoke VA for the night at Marriot Hotel. Last trip down from VT we could not get Marriot in Roanoke so went to Hillsville VA stayed in Fairfield Inn it was really bad Not all Marriot are good we found. We love the route nice area and easy driving. Good luck on what you decide and if you have any more questions I can tell you more.

My youngest DS calls Cracker Barrel "Crack the Barrel Crack"
Both of them look forward to eating there on our trips. Not sure if it is being able to get breakfast for dinner or the store

My DSs are the same, they love Cracker Barrel. I highly suspect the store is the big draw
