Priceline or not???

Hi guys. I need some insight. I have acquired a ticket price out of Greensboro for $137 roundtrip. My question is this (being the bargain hunter I am), should I try priceline just to see if I can beat that price? Or should I go the safe route? Has anyone on here gone through priceline and had success with it? Thanks!

Re: Priceline or not???

I've never used priceline for airline tickets but I have used them once for a hotel in Chicago. We saved $90 per night. I think it's difficult because I didn't have any choice as to which hotel. You have to take what they give you if they can match your bid. I felt we got lucky with the hotel...we got a Hyatt for $90/night in downtown Chicago.

Re: Priceline or not???

Unless you can chose your flight times with Priceline, I would stick to the $137 price you found. I would be afraid of getting a flight on Priceline that leaves at some strange hour of the day. $137 is an awesome fare and you might not do better with Priceline.

I totally agree with Robin - the fare you already have is a fantastic one so why risk ending up with an undesirable flight time, particularly when you can't even be sure you'll be able to get a better price than the one you've got now.

That is a great rate from NC to Orlando these days. I haven't been able to find anything less than $165 from RDU for ages now. -HiddenMickey

Re: Priceline or not???

I agree - take that and run with it- Have you checked Independence Air? They've been running specials from Greensboro.

Priceline is great for rental cars ('cause all rental cars are the same) and for hotels in a city you don't really know, but doing them for airline tickets seems tougher, because you'll likely get put on flights that are at odd times.

Have fun!
