Getting to & from Orlando Airport - too much $$

I have always used Tiffany Towncar for round trips from Orlando Airport to hotel and back. This trip we have a friend we are traveling with that is renting a car and will drive us from the airport to the hotel. However, on the way back, she will have left already. Our party is split in two, and two of us will leave for home on Sunday night, while the other two will leave for home on Wednesday night. I called Tiffany hoping we could book these two return trips to the airport as one round trip, but they said no, it would have to be booked as two single trips, costing $55 each trip or a total of $110 for both trips. Since their round trip price is a lot less, I had hoped they would call this a round trip, but no. They won't let me use the Passporter coupon or their website coupon either. Any other ideas? How much does a cab cost, does anyone know? It would even be cheaper to rent a car, but I'm afraid I would never find my way back to the airport since I've never tried it. Also, one half of our party is under 25, and they can't rent a car. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!

Have you checked into the Mears shuttle? I know it is $29 per person round trip, but am not sure of the one way cost. For 2 people it is generally cheaper than the town cars.

You could also try renting a car or van one way. You pick the car up by the Magic Kingdom. The rental car company picks you up.

I did that last year when I traveled. When we arrived the van cost us $49. The return day it cost us $35. Just a thought.

Someone already suggested Mears.

I think it's $17 per person one way.

We asked bell services in October how much a cab would be from the BC to MCO and it was $45/one way. So, we called Tiffany the morning we were leaving and they had a driver there waiting for us right on time at 2:30pm. We only gave them about a 4 hour notice! And it was $55/one way.

Re: Getting to & from Orlando Airport - too much $

Our DS and DDIL had a terrible experience with Mears. They had ordered a pick-up from the resort to MCO. They had reserved this before leaving home. After waiting for 1 1/2 hour for the shuttle to arrive, along with lots of other people, when it pulled up their name was not on the list! They did have their conformation number so they were allowed to get on that shuttle but they almost missed their flight.

I was under the impression that you still have to call the day before to request the pick-up from the resort, even if you buy the ticket on-line. That's what I did both this year and last year, and had no problem.

Karen,
I'm sorry I failed to mention that they did make that phone call the day before to confirm. Just a little stressful when you have a flight to catch and your ride is late. Especially when you know you did everything right.

No problem. That's strange then - I've never had a problem with pick up at the resort from Mears. In fact, one year I missed my pick up because I wasn't able to get back to the resort in time (I was at CBR and got on a bus marked "Internal", but it made external stops first), and they were able to quickly get me on another shuttle.
