Could anyone tell me if you tip the person who checks your bags curbside at the airport? If so, how much?
I didn't tip the gentleman during my last trip and he acted kind of like he was waiting for me to. I felt terrible about it the entire trip. I just didn't know if I was supposed to tip him or not. I want to get it right this time.
Yes, I tip them about $1 a bag. We had a guy like that too, except he kept standing there looking at us, asking us if he wanted us to take care of our luggage (after he had already given us our boarding passes). DH gave him the money, but frankly, he pushed the rudeness button with me and irritated me!
We usually tip $1 or $2 per bag. We have found the Skycaps to be very helpful. They often issue our boarding pass and have even walked into the terminal and checked with a ticket agent on occasion. (we'll be doing it tomorrow on our way to WDW! Wohoo!! )

Yes, it is customary. We usually tip $1 per bag checked.
[/ QUOTE ]Same here, I'm so happy to not have to tote those bags any further than the curb. We had a short period of time(post 9/11)where curb check-in was, well uh. . .curbed and I really missed the service.

Well, I feel totally stupid now. I completely forgot about tipping the guys at curbside. Oh well, I was at a new airport and didn't know my head from a whole in the ground. I hope they weren't too put off.
