Security Alert: CHECK YOUR BAGS Due to the elevated security levels for travel, make sure you check ALL liquids. That means toothpaste, sunscreen, water. You will not be allowed to lug ANY liquids on board. Also British Airways have banned all electronic items from your carry-on! Check the FAA website for full details!

Re: Security Alert: CHECK YOUR BAGS There's chaos over here on all flights out of the UK. At present you can only fly with a clear plastic bag with passports, tickets and money and compulsory medication. (Although at the moment, nobody seems to be flying anywhere) No doubt more will materialise over the next couple of days.

Re: Security Alert: CHECK YOUR BAGS But my question is, what about liquid meds? And how can I get these items once I lasd. We are taking a limo to the hotel....even on ME, it doesn't stop, and to buy the item in the resort store will cost a fortune!

[/ QUOTE ] I believe you can still transport the liquid meds (I'm assuming you're talking about liquid tylenol and such) in your checked luggage. You just cannot bring liquids on board in your carryon luggage. I've got to check about prescription meds, as Alexa is still on eardrops (well I can put those in the checked bag) but also Amoxicyllin which needs to be cold Edited to add: At this point (6:47 AM EDT) I couldn't find any updates on the FAA website I'm sure they'll be coming though |

Re: Security Alert: CHECK YOUR BAGS My DSIL just went thru Security at Philly International about an hour ago. She said ALL liquids in carry-on luggage were not being allowed thru. I called her to double check and she does recall seing a Liquid Motrin or Tylenol bottle in the trash heap. She was about to board the plane, so she didn't have time to ask about prescription meds. Marnie, can you pack the medicine in ice and double wrap in a plastic bag to put in your checked luggage??

Re: Security Alert: CHECK YOUR BAGS Wow...I sure hope there is some type of exemption for meds. We travel with about 10 different types of meds including an epi pen and benadryl for severe, life threatening allergies. I would not want to be on a plane without them! Hopefully, more specific info will come out on this...

Re: Security Alert: CHECK YOUR BAGS Ok this info just came through at work (Gov) is the only sort of meds allowed on are with scip that matches the passengers ticket name. Baby formula can be carried on ONLY if the mother tastes it at the security checkpoint and if traveling with a small child ditto for breast milk. No beverages will be allowed on the flights at all even if purchased after one goes through the security checkpoint. FYI many times the flights will have first aid/pain meds on them. Hope this helps

Re: Security Alert: CHECK YOUR BAGS Marnie, I know you're short on time, but call Alexa's pediatrician and ask for a new script. Then tell the pharmacist you are getting on a plane and ask for the powder and sterile water. You can them pack both in a suitecase and mix them when you get to your resort. I've done it several times when Carly was younger. Good luck, tenya

We can't fly without a bottle of Benedryl (actually I can, I can just give him some before getting on the plane just in case), but I can't fly without the epi pens and inhalers. If this is the case I'm gonna see if USAir will refund our tickets, and we may have to drive in a few weeks. |

Re: Security Alert: CHECK YOUR BAGS This is from the TSA Website: TSA WEBSITE I had just quoted everything, but realized I'm not allowed to do that. It says no liquids of any kind (then it mentioned a bunch of toiletries). Then it gives exceptions-- Breast Milk, Formula and drinks if babies or small children are flying. Prescription medicicine with the names of the traveler, and other "essential non-prescription medication" (I'm guessing Tylenol and Motrin aren't essential since they were in the trash??)

Re: Security Alert: CHECK YOUR BAGS Whoa. That's crazy. I will have to make sure and check my carry on very well. I don't need to carry any type of meds, but I always have mini bottles of lotion, make up, etc. stashed in my purse.

Re: Security Alert: CHECK YOUR BAGS My mother flew into MCO on Tuesday and is flying back to Vermont on Tues next week. I e-mailed her to let her know of the new regulations. OMG I can't even imagine what the lines are going to be like a security. You wait 45 minutes during slow travel periods with normal regulations...I can't imagine what the waits are going to be now! I told her she should get to the airport at least 3 hours early! Also something that kind of grossed me out is they are making mothers who are carrying mixed baby formula or breast milk actually TASTE the milk to make sure that is what is in the bottle. Sorry but EEEEWWWW

Re: Security Alert: CHECK YOUR BAGS Airtran has an update on their website advising travelers to arrive at least two hours before their scheduled boarding time. I didn't see an advisory on several other websites, but I'm sure they can't be far behind.
