Regarding what can go on a plane...can my dd wear her lanyard with her disney pins to trade on it?
Yes, she can wear her lanyard on the plane. She will need to take it off to go through security, but she can wear it.

Can any type of product in a 3oz size go in your carry-on bag.

Does everything like this need to go in a clear plastic bag?
With the exception of drinks for babies, all other liquids and gels must be 3 oz or less and fit in one quart size baggie. One baggie per person. Medication does not need to be placed in this baggie, but the TSA screeners really appreciate it when you place all medication in a seperate baggie that is easy to screen.

working at an airport I have seen contact solution treated as a gray area some tsa will let it go and other will not. To be safe use the 3.4 oz/ 100ml rule for your carry-on and pack your large bottle in checked baggage.

I think some of us know about this, but I wanted to post this for those that were not aware of it. It is a company that ships your luggage for you. I have not used them and cannont endorse them, I just saw an article in the paper.

Luggage Free - Experts in shipping luggage and excess baggage

Here is an article:

The last time I flew in January, I had about 4 baggies full of stuff and they didn't say anything about that. So I don't think it's one baggie per person. Of course this was out of Chicago and they let a lot of things go.

FYI - Laptops

If you plan to take a laptop out of and back into the country, you might want to read this:

Winging It: Worries about traveling with your laptop | Philadelphia Inquirer | 06/30/2008
From the article:

"Gurley recommended that the committee get a privacy-impact assessment from Homeland Security detailing how many laptops have been seized, why they were taken, and how much time it should take before a device is returned to its owner. She also said there should be published policies for protecting the integrity of data on the devices, and the circumstances that would allow other government agencies to see it. But until that happens, I suggest that if you travel internationally, you scrub your laptop clean of anything you don't want doing an electronic dance around Washington."

Medications

I usually just put all my prescription pills together in one bottle and carry it in my purse....is that still ok? If I have to pack all the bottles - I have about 14 between hubby and me and they are big bottles cause we have to get ours through the mail - 90 day supply. I sure hate having to take all those bottles. I've never had anyone open my purse and say anything before. I just keep them all together in one prescription bottle and they never open it. BTW - they are all pills - no liquids.

Vitamins?

Similar to the last post question, I would like to put several different vitamins in one pill box (the kind for several days with mutiple cubbies) If I put this in my checked suitcase will it be ok?
I am thinking that's better for security than trying to bring it in a carryon because since these are all vitamins, I don't have a prescription. We leave in 5 hours for the airport! yeah
