Quicksilver Question

I'm considering Quicksilver for our ground transportation. In the FAQ on their website I read this:

Are tips included in your price?
No, our rates do not include gratuity to the drivers. A 20% gratuity will be added to all limousine transfers, international arrivals, and out of town transfers.

I'm not sure I follow this. Tips are NOT included, but ARE included to limo transfers, international arrivals, and out of town transfers. Can someone enlighten me as to what exactly this means? TIA!

Re: Quicksilver Question

I haven't used QS myself, but I think I understand what each of those means:

Limo transfers, obviously, means they tack on the tip if you book a limo instead of the standard town car. I don't know why; maybe a limo driver has to have a different class of license in FL than a towncar driver, which would make them more expensive?

International arrivals, means that they tack on the tip for those arriving at MCO from out of the United States. I would guess that this is because procedures for QS to pick up folks from the international areas of the terminal are different than for domestic flights.

Out of town transfers would refer to pickups from the Orlando area that go out of town, such as transfers to Port Canaveral or Vero Beach. I would guess they add on the tip since those are much longer drives.

Maybe Gregory will come on the boards later and confirm whether I got those right. I know he reads here sometimes.

Hi,

What it means exactly is our online posted rates DO NOT include gratuity (some companies post rates with gratuity).
We will add gratuity (20%) only on those three cases mentioned in the FAQ. If your reservation don't fall in these three categories tips will not be included in your final rate (even though a 20% gratuity is customary).

I hope that helps...

Best regards,

Gregory Nicolas.

Re: Quicksilver Question

If you are landing in Orlando and taking Quicksilver to your resort it DOES NOT include a tip... the service was great by the way!!! Will use them again, right on time and very nice...worth the tip!
