| Fare watching What sites do you use to keep an eye on flight pricing? I've never really done it that way, and was wondering what you do? TIA! ETA: Thought of another question . . . If your shchedule is really flexible, are there any days/times that are usually cheaper? Seems like weekdays might be better priced than, say, Friday night or Saturday a.m. Or is that just wishful thinking on my part? Thanks again! |

| Re: Fare watching The ONLY one I use is: http://farechase.yahoo.com/flightsearch/ It checks all the major sites (orbitz, cheaptickets...etc) as well as the carrier sites (including the discount airlines). |

| Re: Fare watching There are cheaper days to travel. I think they are Tuesday thru Thursday, and maybe Saturday. They will most likely always have the lower fare. I don't usually shop around for airfare (as there are limited options out of my airport) and just use their own websites And DING of course! |

| Re: Fare watching I have consistently found the best prices are right from every airline's web site. I usually look at Expedia or Travelocity to get an idea of what the fares are and then go to each airline directly. I can always find something cheaper with better flight times on the airline's websites. |

| Re: Fare watching I use Travelocity.com and expedia.com to check the fares, then go directly to the airline to see if they've got the same fare -- it saves me the $5 fee travelocity charges. HOWEVER, I have used travelocity or expedia.com to book the fares sometimes when their fares were cheaper than the airlines, which does happen too! I appreciate the other postings, as I'm always looking for better ways to come up with places to check fares, etc. |

| Re: Fare watching I've also found the best prices are on the individual airlines on sites. I do use sites like orbitz, travelocity, expedia and hotwire to get an idea of waht prices are out there. Thanks for the farewatcher site! I hadn't heard of that one before. |

| Re: Fare watching I usually go to travel zoo, and orbitz. I watch the fares and then check the individual airlines. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the cheapest days. Weekends are the most expensive. When you are checking fares look earlier in the week, they tend to rise as the week progresses. Good luck. |

| I found a site called CheapOair.com. I purchased 7 tickets from Delta. They are direct flights from Day to Mco. The cost per ticket was $211.00.

| Airline tickets, Discount Airfare, Helping you find Cheap Flights At FareCompare is another one to check out. Mid-week is usually best, although it does depend on the carrier and the airport. Wednesday, followed by Tuesday and Thursday are good starting points. Monday mornings and Friday evenings tend to be heavy with business travelers and Sunday evening from vacation destinations are also prime times. It helps to be flexible and check a day or two prior to your departure. The savings in air fare often makes it worthwhile to come in the night before and use priceline for a room near the airport (just make sure they offer shuttle service!)

| If you register on Travelocity you can sign up for fare savers as soon as you know where you're traveling. I don't know if you noticed, but this is a sticky in this forum with the sites pp have suggested as well as others: http://www.passporterboards.com/foru...her-links.html
