| I'm under the impression (though I don't know where I formed it) that electronic devices without transmitters are prohibited during taxi, takeoff, and landing because airlines don't want passengers distracted in the extremely unlikely event there are any problems that require immediate action. |

| To all of you who are using video iPods on the flight: Are you able to recharge its battery on the plane or at the airport? We have to be at the airport 3 hours prior to departure, will be on a plane for more than 9 hours, then a 3-hour lay-over and another 1,5 hours on a plane. I don't think the iPod's battery will last that long...

| it depends on the airport / plane. you should check out the planes your airline uses at seatguru.com . if there is a power outlet available to passengers, it will show you where they are located so you can try for seat selection. you will most likely need some sort of converter to plug it in, which may be different than the converter you'll need to plug german electronics into a US outlet. you may want to read this for more information on the plane: The Ultimate Guide to In-Seat Laptop Power Ports

| If you get a Belkin TunePower if will extend the iPod's play time by 10 hours for audio or 6 hours for video. It also includes an AC plug to allow you to charge both the iPod and the TunePower.

| Stefanie and I will be using mine for sure on our June trip this year. Keeps her mind of the flight as I have lots of Disney music.

| The TunePower battery pack really is a must for long stretches with a video iPod. Without it I get something like 12+ hours out of a full charge if I'm listening to audio only. But you only get about 2.5-3 hours watching video. TunePower triples the video time. I've never run out of juice with it.

| Just saw another Belkin iPod battery pack in an aiport store yesterday. Belkin has a "TuneJuice II". Works with two AAA batteries instead of the built in rechargeable the TunePower pack has. TuneJuice was $25 versus the $80 you'll pay for TunePower.

| My Ipod gets filled with WDW podcasts to help keep my level of magic up for the long flight(s) from California. No problem so far as long as you follow the airlines on/off rules.
