Airline Ticket Prices

Our local news ran a segment about getting refunds from airlines if they drop the fares after you purchased your tickets. So, I figure, I'll just check our flights and see what is up .

HOLY COW! Prices from Hartford (CT)/Springfield (MA) to Orlando on Delta went up $200 -$300 per ticket since we booked ! Then, out of curiosity, I check Southwest. Their cheapest fares (which were mostly unavailable) are roughly what we're paying. Otherwise, same story. Lots of $$$.

I was worried that I might have bought tickets too soon and missed some deals. Now I feel very lucky. This just reinforces what others on the Board say: If you see a fare that you're comfortable with, buy your tickets!

Me too. I booked ours a couple of weeks ago and I also checked the $ now and it had gone up by several hundred dollars! But now we have another person that has decided to go which is great but the fare is so high I don't know whether to wait and see if it goes back down or go ahead and get it now to insure he is able to fly with us?

That is so very, very true.

Thankfully, both of the airlines that we fly with (Alaska and American) will give you flight credit it the airfare goes down for the same itinerary and dates. That always gives me more peace of mind when buying tickets . . . .plus, if they go down and we get a credit, that's another excuse to head back down to WDW!
