If he returns the rental, why not call the rental company and see if they can 'drop him off' whereever he may be going, Hurtz and Enterprise do this service. Not sure it there is a mileage limit to it or not. Just call.

Yes, it's certainly worth a phone call to find out, isn't it? I do know that last year none of the car rental companies was very accommodating with any special requests. They had their "offsite" locations and their airport locations and the two seemed completely independent of each other.

They even wanted to charge us more than $25 to drop the car at an "offsite" (i.e. in town) location. This, after we had asked when we picked up the car if it we could drop it at a different location! (I guess we forgot to ask specifically if there would be a charge!) You have to know exactly the questions to ask!

But I will call and ask.

Thanks for the sugestion!

DME is free for all Disney-owned resorts. You cannot use DME if you are staying at SOG, Swan/Dolphin, or any of the Downtown Disney hotels.

Is a rental car an option? Depending on how many people are in your party, it might be most cost effective. I was looking at the prices for the Orlando Carriers and from Sanford to the Disney area, it was $60 roundtrip per person. The first link gives you several carriers (Including Mears) that you can contact for prices.

I have a question, we are going to Disney March 28th-April 4th so I only have 46 days until we leave. My question we are not yet decided if we are flying or driving. If we end up flying what do I need to do? Do we call Disney to tell them we will need to get transportation from the airport to our resort? Or will I get the luggage tags in my packet in a couple of weeks even though I don't have flight plans? Thanks in advance for anyone that can help me out.

I believe you'll need to tell Disney IN ADVANCE of your plans. I don't think they send out Disney Magical Express luggage tags (or information pack) unless this is requested as part of your reservation. I believe DME can be "added" to your package more or less anytime. Even if you decide too late to receive your tags and information in the mail you may still be able to use DME by taking your luggage to the DME check in where they will either issue you with tags for them to "magic away" your luggage or you can take it with you to your resort on the motorcoach. I think (again not sure) but DME can be requested up to 72 hours before your scheduled arrival. I don't think you can just "turn up" without a prior reservation, but I may well be wrong.

Remember, I am by no means an expert, having used DME just one time but, here is what I had found out pior to our departure from San Diego. If you notify DME no less than 72 hours in advance with flight number, date and number in your party, all you have to do upon arrival at Orlando, ONLY ORLANDO, and not stanford, is to go to the DME desk on the 1st level and give them your claim tickets and describe to them what your luggage looks like and they will take if from there OR you can claim your luggage and manhandle them down to the DME desk and they will load them onto the bus.

Question for Liberty Travel Users:

If you've booked your trip (Rooms, Flights & Tickets) through them, do they also book the DME Service for you too?

Because our trip is only 2 months away I think I should probably make reservations for DME now if Liberty Travel has not already done it for us.

I would not wait. I'd go ahead and call any way. They can tell you one way or the other and if not then you can give them your flight information at that time. It is best to be careful. I think this is their phone number.....1-407-827-6777

I don't think this question has been answered and before I spend the long distance on a phone call I thought somone here prob knows the answer

We leave from Ottawa, Ont Canada so I guess when traveling on the Magical express they believe you are international and have to clear customs. However Ottawa has a US customs that we clear before leaving Canada. So this is where I get confused. Can we just leave our bags go through like normal as we maybe international but don't have to clear customs again and only see our bags at the resort. OR do we still pull them off and clear customs again (which we would normally not do)

ANy suggestions or help would be appreciated

Thanks
