| Disney's Magical Express *Arrival* procedures If you are interested in using Disney's Magical Express service, here are some important facts you'll need to know for your trip TO the Walt Disney World resort: - It's FREE for everyone staying at the Walt Disney World Resort. - *ALL* tourists arriving at Orlando International Airport are eligible to use the service to get from the airport to the Walt Disney World resort. Regardless of airline - Prior to your trip, you will receive a packet from Disney Magical Express that will contain your vouchers for the bus and yellow luggage straps. - You will need to affix the yellow DME luggage straps to the handles on your luggage, just like the label/strap that is affixed to your luggage by a skycap or airline check-in attendant. - Upon arrival in Orlando, all luggage with a yellow DME strap is routed to freight trucks instead of the baggage carousel. These trucks then travel to the WDW resort when they are full, and luggage is distributed to the resorts for delivery to your room. This can take a few hours, so plan on packing a carry-on bag with essentials that you may need between your arrival and your luggage arrival. - When you de-plane, proceed to the Disney Welcome Center in Terminal B, Level 1. You may encounter greeters on Level 2 who will point you in the right direction. At the Welcome Center, provide your vouchers to the attendant and they will check you in and show you to the appropriate bus line. Board the bus and enjoy a hassle-free ride to the Walt Disney World Resort.

| We did this on our last vacation -- plane got in at 8:30PM and we got our luggage at 12:30 that night. However, I would do this differently if I was arriving that late again. I would pack one bag (carry-on or checked) that contained just what we needed for that night and the next morning -- and I would NOT DME tag that one bag. Then, I'd DME tag the rest of the luggage. When we landed, I'd pick up any bags that I sent through without a DME tag and take it to DME and the bus. When I checked-in to the resort, I'd tell them that I don't want the lugage delivered until the next morning. I'd head out to a park the next morning and know that my bags would be waiting in the room when I got back. Easy peasy! Eileen

| Just my warning. We arrived at 1:30 in the afternoon. We got on the bus and checked in to the resort after waiting an hour and a half in a jam. We did not get our luggage until mid-night. Bell Service said it was not at the desk, Delta did not have our luggage. We had actually started the paperwork for lost luggage. We started to think about diapers for the baby and formula. It was the knock on the door that shocked us completely. It was around 1:30 by the time we check our luggage and got the baby into PJ's. That was a long night of waiting and stress.

| Luggage arrival question Have you seen a difference for the length of time you wait for your luggage to get to your room based on when you arrive at Orlando airport? We're going in exactly 2 weeks!!! Our plane lands at 10:30 am . . .will that help with getting the luggage delivered earlier compared to a late afternoon flight for example? I'm just beginning to worry about pjs and other nighttime items we may need if our stuff isn't delivered until 1:00 am that night. Thanks! |

| I wouldn't worry too much about not getting your luggage until 1am. I think what Evil Queen experienced was a fluke. The last time I used DME, my plane landed at 2pm and my bag was in the room when we came back later that evening. We did pack a change of clothes in our carry ons because we were coming from freezing temps and arriving to temps in the 80's! But if it will make you feel more in control, then definately pack what might be needed in either a carry on, or just don't tag it as Caldercup suggested. I LIKE that idea, BTW!

| It's Friday and we leave next Friday. We haven't received our DME packet yet! I've called twice and asked already. First, they said that they're mailed about a month before you arrive. The second phone call said that the packet should arrive about 10 days before you leave. When does it really arrive? And, if we don't get it, what do we do? I'm counting on DME to get us there without a rental car cost. BreadBaker |

| We didn't put the yellow labels on. We wanted to be certain our luggage had made the trip. We collected it from the baggage claim and took it on the same bus we travelled on. No waiting , no worries at bedtime - we too had the baby stuff plus PJs, swimmers and a jacket for each of us in our carry on bags in case our luggage never arrived. Magical express saved us $120 in using a town car service and it was heaps of fun wandering through the airport looking for the CM with the huge mickey gloves!

Hmm.... The DME packet contains the yellow luggage tags that you would put on your luggage so it gets directed to the DME trucks. Since you don't have them, you'll have to go to baggage claim and grab your bags. Also, the DME packet contains the voucher that you would use to check-in and board the bus, so you would have to go to the check-in desk and explain your situation to them. Hopefully they will be able to clear it up and get you on a bus. At this late in the process, I would call them again and ask if they could "overnight" the DME packet to you.

| OK, I called back today. I was given the DME phone number and called them. Our packet was mailed 1/11 so it was about 40 days before we will arrive. Obviously, it's just lost. The nice lady on the phone confirmed that we're in their system and that we should just bring out luggage check tags with us to the DME desk and they'll find our bags and bring them along. (I might skip this part and just haul them ourselves as we're getting in late and I'll want my stuff. Or in an ideal world, we will be able to take just carry-on luggage.) So, the answer is confirm you're in the system and don't worry. BreadBaker |
