I CAN'T FIND A DARN FLIGHT!

Ok My family of 7 including myself is going to Orlando in June and I have been PROCRASTINATING big time about purchasing flights even toyed with the idea of driving because it is just really expensive and I'm cheap. So, since Saturday, I finally caved and began looking for flights. I COULD NOT FIND ANY! I mean they were there but I refuse to do a connection and I refuse to go late at night, I mean I'd rather just drive for that. So, my question is, do airlines routinely add flights if they book up or is it basically when they are gone, they are gone. My flight needs to be June 21st and I'm staying to July 5th. I admit I feel a little nuts for waiting this long.

What about SW, although you would have to fly out of ISP(Long Island). They have flights starting at $231 R/T, not sure if that is too high or a pain to get to ISP. Flights do go pretty fast and once they are gone they are gone. Go to SW and check out the times if ISP isn't too far.

That's too bad. You would think with your advantage of living in the tri state area that there would be SOMETHING left.

Have you tried booking one way trips? We save money that way. I booked our trip down to Orlando last week. I still have to book our flight home. Also, make sure you clear out your history and cookies on the computer.

Ooops! Pressed the wrong key.

If you have your heart set on a direct flight, you may have to check every day and drive down as a last resort if you don't get one. We are traveling around that same time to Orlando and it is over a holiday so I think that is why the planes got booked so fast. I booked in February and I already missed the cheapest fares on Jetblue.
Their fares goes up as the flight gets booked up.
Good luck and enjoy your trip once you get there.

The 5th flight is the one you are having trouble with right? Is there any way you can change your date? Without much Flexibility you might have some trouble. Have you tried:

Cheap Airfares - Yahoo! FareChase

Here is what I found from Newark:

I just checked...Airtran out of Philly has seats on the 21st for $149 (one way)down. That flight lands at 5:30. SOuthwest has seats the evening of the 5th for anywhere from $128-$148. There was a $79 flight the morning of the fifth too, but I didn't check the time. Given the size of your group, the lateness of booking (relatively, given the holiday), the desire for non-stop flights, and the time it will save you with traveling, I don't think that $300/pp is an exorbitant amount for roundtrip airfare. It just depends, is it worth 2 extra days in the parks (if you drive straight through)for what you'd have to pay for airfare? Good luck!!

I am going down the same time too except we are flying back on the 3rd and I have found the rates to be pretty high as well. I was looking at flying out of Islip as well with some DING rates from SW then I heard the whole SW saga and got cold feet...

But Jet Blue is so high but we need to fly out at night of the 26th wso I might do Jet Blue one way at least from JFK.

ok all the pixie dust must of helped because on my other browser I just booked our flight. Continental out of Newark which is 30 minutes away from me, for $314 pp after all the momentuous fees. I can't ask for better than that. Only thing is we are getting in to MCO at 5:52 pm but I'll take it since are coming back late at night so it's still same amount of vacation time. I am soooo excited!!!
