I am going the 2nd week in December and have already started looking . . . prices are still a bit high for me right now, but I am keeping an eye on them.

Southwest will probably open up bookings for December in July (they are only booking through October right now) so I am definitely keeping an eye out for cheap fares and a DING! through them in a few months.

We are going that same week and I have had our tickets for a bit. I know that the tickets for the flight I want NEVER go on sale because that flight is ALWAYS oversold and they are ALWAYS asking for volunteers to leave later (sorry, you can't compensate me enough for lost park time ).
I was really worried because I kept hearing about the cost going up and up and up, so I took the plunge last month. you find something you can deal with!

Also, use Kayak.com, it's a great search engine for airlines that searches out your flights daily and sends you updates daily for the lowest price.

Incedently, we're going in January and I already bought our airfare. I'm too fearful of the oil/gas crap that's going on.

If you are waiting for Southwest they will be posting their Dec. fares on June 26th. We are going to Florida, not WDW, in December and we always fly Southwest. I called them this morning and they said that fares for Nov. - Jan 6th will open on June 26th. I plan on booking at 12:01 a.m. Those Florida fares sell out fast!
Good luck.

The last overnight visit I was there; Mr. Toad still had his Wild Ride, Epcot still had Horizons, and The Golden Girls still had a house on Residential Street in MGM. Animal Kingdom was in the process of being built. So it's been a long, long time since I have stayed and played in the World! Last visit one day at AK in 2003

Start checking around now. The fares I booked two weeks ago for Dec 7 to 13th have already gone up $300.
