| When should I start looking??? We will be flying to Orlando in December, would love some info on when airlines open these dates. I have been looking at different airline sites and notice that a few don't book that far out. When should I start looking for the best fares for December flights? Thanks! |

| We are going the first week of December and booked our airfare last month. We'd been watching AirTran's fares and they dropped to a level we couldn't resist ($62 each way!). AirTran, JetBlue and Delta all have their fares out for December. I'm sure others do but those are the ones I was checking. Normally I don't buy this far out but I was nervous about gas prices and their effect on ticket prices.

| The legacy carriers open the flights about 11 months out. The discounts often wait a lot later. As to the best time for a fare, in this airline flight/cost climate, find one you can live with and book it. (even the rebooking fees if you find a lower fare later are going up.

| We booked in Feb with Midwest because they have the most leg room. They run specials all the time but those seem to come out about 3 months before the flight dates. I'm too anal to wait that long.

| I agree with those who say book when you can live with the fare. With the way things have been lately, I would be leery of holding out for special fares or discounts. Start looking now to get a feel for what fares are running. |

| We are also going to WDW the first week of Dec. I agree with everyone about booking when you find something you can live with. Myself: I got nervous about all the gas prices going up, up, up! I have had our flights for a couple of months now. But that is just me and now I feel like it is one less thing to worry about! Good luck to you!! |

| Also hunting for a "good" deal for December airfare. So far, I am not very impressed. |
