| Lithium Batteries I am wondering about packing Lithium batteries. I am flying American and there information says that Lithium batteries need to packed in the carryon baggage and that the connectors need to be covered/protected. What is the best thing to use to cover that part of a battery? Thanks,

| I keep them in the original package or use electrical tape.

| The battery restrictions actually apply to batteries that are much larger than AA, D, etc. - the kind of stuff used by news cameramen, professional photographers, to power ECVs, etc. No matter what, it's a good idea to never carry charged batteries loose - the batteries can touch other batteries or metal objects and lose their charge. If they're new, keep them in their original packaging. If you don't have a suitable container, the masking tape/electrical tape suggestion is fine, although there may be some adhesive residue left on the battery terminals after you're done that may have to be cleaned off to ensure the adhesive doesn't act as an electical insulator.
