For MA. area friends...New MCO flight

Hi! Just saw a news report, thought I'd pass it on... Direct Air Airlines based out of Myrtle Beach will be adding direct flights from Worcester,Ma. Reg. Airport to Orlando, beginning Nov. 22. I am not good at adding links, but I'll try...

Thank you kindly, neighbor, for that information. If htings go badly with AirTran, now I know of yet another alternative. Although, honestly, we've even looked at driving ... 21 hours and 30 minutes' worth of it.

At least the directions end up simple - drive two blocks to the start of the Lowell Connector, take that to Route 3, then to I-95 ... and stay on that interstate all the way to Daytona Beach, Florida. No exits to look for, no change of highway to miss, de nada until Daytona Beach (and changing to route I-4, heading to Orlando).

The only problem is, that'd add another whole ten days to our trip - three days each way for driving (only one licensed driver in the group, oops), plus a few days in Washington D.C., another trip we've wanted to take for a while now. I mean, we couldn't drive right past it, and not stop to see some of the museums ... now, could we? (Not to mention, I would have to take the time to visit my father's grave, in Arlington. Wouldn't be right not to.)

In the local paper yesterday there was an article also. It states that flights will be $100 each way from Worcester to Sanford. They are currently running a special. If you buy tickets before Monday night, they are $79 each way. Flights begin November 22nd.

Great to know for future trips! I just hope they don't pull out like AirTran did.

Still too far away for me, but I will definitely mention it to my inlaws. That might be easier for them than Providence!

Thanks for the info. I'd seen something on the news the other day, meant to investigate, and then got sidetracked. Does anyone know anything about this airline? Do they have a good rep, or are they just another AirTran?
