| Nervous About Airfare For May Trip Hi everyone. I'm really getting nervous about our airfare for our trip in May of next year. I've been pricing tickets with Southwest (even though the actual fares won't be realesed until November for the departure part of our trip) and the cheapest I've seen for the two of us is still going to run about $1100 IF the fares stay comparable with what they've been running. I looked on the WDW website today and I can get tickets through Continental today for about $800. What I'm worried about is Continental cutting service. American used to fly out of Lubbock, but now they aren't even listed as an option through Disney. So, do I take a chance with Continental and save the $300+ or do I go ahead and book with Southwest in November and KNOW that I'll have a flight in May. WWYD? |

| ME? I'd book with SW. AT least they give you a credit if the price comes down!! AND at NO CHARGE to you! AND you KNOW you'll have a flight!!! I would wait to book it though until after January. I have been watching SW flights for December and February. Booked my Dec flights and the price went down after I booked. I have a credit now. I am antsy to book my Feb flight, but holding out until at least Oct to see if the rates drop like they did on the December flights! ![]()

| That's a tough one. And for me one of the downsides of planning far in advance. We planned our December trip way ahead and SW and JB didn't have airfares out yet and I was a wreck worrying how bad it would be. But back to your question--I think I'd be inclined to wait until SW puts their schedule out unless you're flexible about your travel times. I think booking now for May with Continental (or any airline really) there's a good change your times will change between now and then. Good luck!

| Good question!! I too am getting nervous about an upcoming trip to Las Vegas in January. I saw the Today show this morning and heard that all the major carriers are cutting their schedules as much as 40% to 60% in some markets. And, that even if you do book early they have the right to cancel and issue a refund, or rebook you on another carrier with up to 3 transfers. Personally, I love Southwest because they seem to be the only airline that is still making a profit, and is still keeping fares, schedules, and luggage rules somewhat reasonable. ![]() Good luck with whatever you decide!! | It's probably way too early to be getting a good price on airfare, and the times/routes will change about a billion times between now and May. I'd wait until after the new year to get my bearings on more accurate times and fares.

| I would wait until a little closer to your trip and probably go with SW. We live in Amarillo so we always compare flights from here, Lubbock and Albuquerque (we have family both places), so we are willing to go where we can get the best rates. I usually book when I am comfortable with the price anywhere from 3-5 months out and have found I usually get the best price in that time frame. SW is much easier to work with if the price comes down. Good luck and for getting a great deal!

| I'd wait for SW. Who knows? You might even get a ding and get some really low airfare! (I have my fingers crossed for April) Good luck.

| Thanks everyone. Y'all confirmed what I had been thinking all along. I'm going to wait until after the 1st of the year and then keep my fingers crossed that I get a DING fare. I've seen DING's as low as $94 one way to Orlando from Lubbock so HOPEFULLY there will be one that will work with our travel dates. I'm not all that picky about travel times. I do like to arrive early and leave late, but if it will save me some $$$ or even some anxiety I can be flexible. Thanks again. I ♥ Passporters! |

| I would stick with SW. We booked with them for our December trip and then the prices went down. DS called and got a credit. We are also going in May and I will book with SW. |
