Jet Blue Prices

My DH is always wondering if booking when dates first open is the way to go. So, I just compared the price for the same flight we are taking less than 2 weeks from now. (I have been checking right along) I originally booked the tickets when dates opened way back in March. the tickets are now almost exactly $1,000 more now for the 4 of us ($250.00 each)! I printed it off an showed my DH ...... he told me to keep doing what I'm doing and he will never question my judgement again. Even Southwest can't touch the fares I originally got. We never get a Ding! from here to Orlando because of all the Canadian's crossing the border to get cheap airfares. I'm so excited right now I can't stand it. Ieven get to take 2 bags each if I want with no charge!

It's kinda' crazy how much the airfares can fluctuate! When we went in December 2006, we paid @ $218/RT (Boston to Orlando) and about 3 days later the same flight was over $500! At one point, it was over $1,000! It never came down as low as I got it (I think @ $298 was the lowest I saw it).

Glad you got it when you did!

keep in mind that JB's prices are based on not much more than seat availability so the prices can fluctuate wildly, particularly if someone cancels or changes to another flight.

they also no longer charge any fees for issuing credits (unless that's changed again) so if the fare does dropped, you can call for a full credit (which is transferable as it is) so there's no reason to not purchase tickets as soon as you feel comfortable.

Great job saving some serious $$! We always book asap from the moment we know we are going on a trip. Not so much about the money~~really just to make sure we get a seat on the flight we want!

I stalk JetBlue website and book my fares the day they become available. I live in NJ but my family is in FL so I fly quite a JB quite a bit and I always get the best price on the first day. We must fly on popular flights because my fares have never, not once gone down as the flight approached. And I always check because I am a nut.

Yes, the 12:00 non-stop from BUF to MCO! On the way back the 4:00 (?) non-stop. $89.00 down and $104.00 back.

We usually take Southwest, but their prices were much higher so I decided to try Jet Blue.

We are going to MNNSHP on the 19th. Wanted to avoid the crowds during AP/DVC/FP discount night and the discount is only something like $4.00 per ticket anyway. Can't wait!

Now all I have to do is order my grocery delivery and maybe a rental car. Still debating on the rental. Just want to go to do some off-site stuff for a couple of days.

Hey Barb, DH and I will be there on the 19th as well. We will be wearing Mickey jack-o-lantern trick-or-treat shirts. Say hi if you see us.

Just alittle heads up for you all...

Booked Jetblue back in April for our Nov. trip, 6 roundtrip tickets.

As soon as you know when you're flying, book it.

I keep checking the fare prices online once in awhile. Guess what? My flight dipped lower than when I bought my tickets.

Well...what did I do? I called. Yes, I called Jet Blue and said "Is there anything you can do for me, I paid more than what the price is now?"

Be nice and polite. I got a $240 credit towards next trip ( I have to use in a year)

I'm not saying this will happen to everyone, but it's worth a shot when your airfare dips lower!

I'm satisfied. Jet blue rocks!

Congrats on the pricing. We also love JetBlue and their service. Unfortunately I have had no luck on our April fares which is probably the reason we have never traveled during that time.

Re them crediting your flight - absolutely every one should call. I've always done so and the difference has always been credited.
