| Experiences with US Air? Hi all! We've never flown US Air before, and as of now, it appears to be the least expensive option for us. Any personal experiences you'd like to share? Are seats reserved vs. SWA, where you select upon boarding?

| Seats are reserved!! It's been many years since I've flown with them, but not too many issues (used to fly them all the time for work).

| Yes, seats are reserved and you can choose them when you purchase your tickets. USAirways is okay; we fly them a lot because they are the largest presence at our airport (PHL). For fares they run about the same as SWA, whom they compete with here. They have more flights to Florida (to Orlando, anyway) from here and many are non-stop. They are charging for 1st & 2nd bags; SWA does not charge at this time. Drinks are now free, but snacks are extra. Also, if you are using ME, SWA does not yet offer check-in for your return flight from your resort; USAirways now does.

![]() I will add, that the last few times we have flown US Air have been very pleasant. the 1st time we flew them in 2004 was when the baggage handlers were revoluting, and it was not pretty. We booked our flights for December with them and they were the cheapest around at $59.00 each way. You get to choose your seats when you make the reservation, also so there isn't a free for all when boarding the plane!

| We are flying US Air for our WDW May trip. We booked online and choose our seats at that time. I agree with those who would choose US Air over SWA if the price is the same or lower.

| Both times I was booked with USAir they filed some sort of bankruptcy. My dd's dad use to fly with them all the time for work and absolutely hated them. I always book either SW or AirTran out of Philly now as I'd prefer not to fly with USAir |

| Will never fly US Air again! July 2006- Return trip from Disney Flight delayed due to weather (not their fault) in Philapdelphia Last minute change of gates No one's luggage was moved to the new gate and plane Flew into Manchester NH to NO LUGGAGE! People in lost luggage were rude and didn't care. Just said fill this out and we will be in touch. Spent 2 days trying to get a human on the phone with NO luck! Nothing on line was helpful either. Finally got the recording that the luggage was found and would be delivered in 4-6 hours...30 minutes later a hatchback pulls into the driveway with the luggage. He said he would've been there an hour earlier but they kept calling him back to the airport as they didn't give him all of the luggage. Went back 2-3 times to get the correct luggage. I think that pretty much sums it up. We mostly fly Jet Blue out of Boston these days. We do like SWA a lot but they don't post their flights early enough for us and Manchester is easier to get too. 2 weeks from today we will be arriving in Orlando for a 9 day trip! I can't wait! |

| PHL to MCO = maybe on US Air but only if I couldn't find something else on SW or AirTran. They are my 'airline of desperation'. MCO to PHL = NO WAY! The luggage handling has been terrible with more than 2+ hours after landing until the bags started arriving. And that was after being moved to not one but two different carrosels without telling anyone. But at least we were lucky that we GOT our luggage... to this day my parents still haven't seen one of their bags. Make sure you factor in any charges for checked luggage, though, no matter what you do (Southwest excluded, of course!)

| I flew a United/US Air code share from Seattle (on United) transfer in PHL to US Air flight. I didn't have any problem. It was before baggage fees.

| Flew USAir to Vegas last year....lost my husbands luggage, could not get a straight answer. In the end...it fell off the belt coming from outside into the airport and no one picked it up. My father-in-law flew USAir to and from Orlando a couple of months ago...coming home to Boston, they lost his luggage. No explanation. Twice in one year was enough to turn me off of them.

| Thanks for all of the replies. There are enough negative experiences to make me reconsider. At this point, I am sitting tight to wait for SWA prices to open on April 14. I'm also keeping an eye on fares out of LGA. I swore I would never fly Delta again after a terrible experience, but they have an early morning flight to MCO the following morning that would save me over $400, plus one night's hotel... and we'd arrive in MCO at about 10 a.m. Decision, decisions, decisions!!!
