| Have they moved Florida farther south? My flight down started at 2hours and 55 minutes, then they added 4 minutes, now they have added 3 more. My arrival time has stayed the same, but the departure time keeps moving. How do they know that on Dec 10 it will take longer to get to Florida? Just one of those things ![]()

| depending on the route the flight is assigned will change the time a few minutes one way or another. With so many airlines travelling in close times to the same destinations, flight routes are not exactly the same for each carrier. It can also change because of expected weather patterns, the president in an area, etc.

| They just build in time for delays on the runway, etc.

| Love those tailwinds. Ever see a military passenger jet plane? Smaller than 747s. We left Atsugi, Japan, outside of Tokyo, about 11 AM, on a monday morning with about 70 plus passengers and baggage. We were scheduled to refuel in Hawaii, have breakfast and continue immediately to El Toro. (outside DLR) After a couple hours of flying we hitting strong tailwinds and were authorized to fly higher to reach Hawaii. We hit a freak tailwind and were able to bypass Hawaii (and breakfast Smaller than a 747, Tokyo, Japan to the Mojave Desert of CA just short of 8 hours. And due to the international date line we were back in CA before we left Japan.

| I thought I'd read that airplanes were reducing their speed a little bit to save on fuel so that could be it. They better not move Florida further away from us
