Smile Airline out of Memphis or NE Arkansas

I am looking for the most affordable, NO I MEAN CHEAPEST, flights out of the Memphis, TN area. Would also consider driving to Little Rock to catch a plane. Anywhere within a reasonable driving distance from Jonesboro, Ar.

Most of the cheap ticket website leave out the independent carriers that are often much cheaper. I am new to the area and do know know what is avaibale. Any advise is appreciated.

Welcome to the boards!

I would check Southwest Airlines site to see which is the closest airport to you. SWA has great prices most of the time.

Good luck!

I think AirTran is your cheapest alternative out of Memphis. Out of Little Rock, try Southwest for sure.

Almost nothing is cheap out of Memphis! That being said, Airtran often has pretty good rates if you catch their sales. Sign up for their emails, so you know what is being offered. Their best rates usually come around 3-4 months before the date. Southwest flies out of Little Rock. I've never flown them, but they seem to have really good deals. I think they have some sort of email alerts as well.

By the way, welcome to the boards!

We always fly Northwest out of Memphis to Orlando as they have the best rates I've seen (around $180 round trip per person). Southwest flies out of Little Rock, but amazingly, Northwest was cheaper when we bought our tickets...

Good luck!

Welcome to the boards! We are in NE Arkansas too.....we normally fly NWA out of Memphis fares are normally not too bad. Airtran is cheaper sometimes. Then there is SWA out of Little Rock. Really depends on when you are going and how far out you buy your tickets. Like some of the others have said sign up for email alerts for sales.
