| Just signed up for fare alerts Signed up for fare alerts for jet Blue & Kayak...any other places you reccomend?..I'm very limited because I live in a very rural area of Maine..I have an airport close by but with only 2 major carriers and Allegiant Air..which only flies into Sanford...the next best thing is Portland maine which is a 2 hour drive from home...

| Airfare – Cheap Airfares – Cheap Airfare Deals It is a site called Airfare Watchdog. You can sign up for only the airports near where you live and they send you a daily newsletter listing the cheapest airfares from your home airport(s). I live in southcentral KY so I sign up for the Nashville and Louisville newsletter.

| I like Kayak. You could sigh up for the 2 major carriers in your airport too. Does SW go into Portland? You could sign up for them too. I drive 3 hrs to an airport, I always book a Marriott either Spring Hill or Towne Place suites near airport, for the night before, they let you leave your car parked there free. Often the hotel room rate depending on how long you are away, and what discount you can get for the room, can be cheaper than airport parking!

| SW flies out of NH...thats about 3 1/2 hours away...which is quite daunting for me..I would have to do the hotel thing the night before and alot of people do that from around here...Going down wouldn't be a problem because we'd have the positive energy on our side, but returning home would be such a drag after that and having such a long drive...it would really have to be a major difference in cost to justify it...
