| carseats on cabs? We're doing a split stay our next trip and most advice says to take a cab over to your next resort, taking your luggage with you. First of all, there will be 3 adults, 1 child. Do they have minivan cabs that would hold all of us? Do they cost more? And my DD will be 6 and is still in a car seat. How does that work in a cab? Would we not be able to use one?? Thanks so much!

| Cabs and other for-hire conveyances are exempt from the child seat laws in Florida (or so I've been told.) If you call the cab company the night before, many cab companies will be able to supply a booster seat or a car seat. Just ask what they can do for you. Eileen

| There's no extra charge for minivan taxis - same rate as a regular cab. You'd just have to request one. Personally, I'm not a member of the "take your whole family and luggage with you in a cab club." So long as you're moving between Disney resorts, I find it's easier to send just one member of your party to the new resort to check in (that could be with luggage, or using Disney's free luggage transfer service). Since the transfer usually happens in the morning, it's rare to get a room assignment at check-in, so why bring everyone with you? Send the rest to the park, and the person who checks in can catch up with everyone there.

| If both rooms are on WDW site, another option is to have Disney transfer your luggage for you and you can then take Disney transportation to the new resort. I have done this in the past and it is so nice not to have to haul the luggage yourself. I'm all about lazy sometimes and when I switch resorts, this is one of those times!

| I have tried both and would definetly go with the Disney transfer. It is such a hassle to load everything and everyone up in a taxi (or van) and relocate. It is much easier to let them transfer the luggage, since like everyone else said, your room more than likely will not be ready. You can use that time in the parks having fun!!!

| I agree with the whole "let Disney move you" thing (assuming you're going between WDW properties)... because it's much easier! If you really want to take a cab, honestly for a 6 year old I personally wouldn't bother with a car seat for a short cab ride. I know I'm way more laid back on that sort of thing than most, though.

| We took cabs twice last year and both times the CM at bell services was able to call and request a cab with a car seat -- we didn't wait more than 5 minutes either time for one to come. This year we took a short cab ride to switch resorts and we buckled dd in with the seatbelt.

| forgive me if I'm wrong. But in Florida you don't need a car seat after the age of 4?? It was our last visit anyway. Here in Ohio we just change to booster seat unitl 8! or 4 feet 9 in
