flight change and check in question

I just received an update on our flight and it seems that instead of arriving in Orlando at 4:00 pm, we won't be leaving until 4:00 now, putting our ETA in Orlando at 6:45 pm at night.

We land at 6:45pm, and get picked up by TTC, and we make a grocery stop on our way to the AKL

I was just wondering if anyone could help me guess when we may be settled in our room.

Thanking you in advance,

Re: flight change and check in question

You will be settled in your room by 9pm. I'm almost 100% certain on that!

ATA had changed my departure time. We were supposed to leave at 2:20pm, but instead was leaving at 4:40pm. I called and told them that it was unacceptable. Not a problem to change, because the airline had moved our flight more than an hour, we were able to switch to the early flight without having to pay the switching fees!

How many flight options do you have? Can you call them and request to leave sooner?

Is that flight acceptable to you? I don't know that I'd take a major change like that - if one is available, I'd request a different flight.
You chose and paid for a particular flight and made arrangements based on that time. Get what you paid for!

2 hours max after landing is what I always figure, less if you arrive at off-peak times.

Re: flight change and check in question

I think Wendy's estimate is right on- somewhere around 9'ish- but like the others have said, if that time doesn't seem okay with you- I would call and see what can be done about it.

Funny, when I tell someone a time of when I am doing something or going to be somewhere- I can't just call them up and say " I have decided to wait 2 hours." I guess I could but then I wouldn't be a very nice person.

Re: flight change and check in question

Thanks for the quick replies, and 9-ish is what I had figured on. We got an amazing deal from SpiritAir at 66/pp/each way, from Detroit, and I completely agree with the one of you who said that "you get what you pay for".

I planned for the first day to be a travelling day, so I am not too upset by it, and the next day is really the start to our vacation when DD turns 5 ! We will just be sure to get a good nights sleep before we tackle the all day birthday festivities at the magic kingdom

Thanks,

I've flown to Europe on a Delta flight that was over $1000 and the flight times were changed 3 times before my trip. I think airline schedules are always changing- you should consider yourself lucky if your times don't change. -Stephanie
