My Airfare Went Down!!! About This Page:

I just happened to check southwest's site, (basically to see if my flights were full) and airfare for the same dates were $120.00 less for the four tickets. At first I was upset (why didn't I wait longer to book airfare). I figured the $158 roundtrip per person was a good rate. It is now $124.00 roundtrip per person. So, I called and they are refunding $50.00 and crediting the other $70.00 for future airfare. Though, not as good as having the whole $120.00 back in my pocket, better than nothing.

Now I will just have to go somewhere in the next year not to lose my $70.00. Guess that isn't such a bad thing. By the way, that is flying out of BWI incase any of you near Baltimore are looking for good airfare.

Not to discourage you on your great airfare - but have you watched the show "Airline" on Monday nights on BRAVO - it's a real life 1/2 hour show documenting Southwest. It's an excellant show, but after watching it since it's been on the air, I will not fly Southwest.

Though I haven't seen the show, I have flown southwest many many times. Never once was there a problem. Granted it is no frills flying, but for a two hour flight, who needs frills.

Glad you were able to save some money, and that they gave you an immediate credit. Most airlines you just get a voucher for future travel

I used to hate southwest - now I love them - they are so much more flexible than other airlines and are willing to go the extra mile when they can - at times they remind me of the CMs at Disney. When I have the option - I typically fly southwest.

Another trip to disney would definately be good, especially if my mom doesn't make it and I have her park hopper left over as well. Although, I was thinking after almost 3 weeks in disney with the kids, a long weekend in vegas without them might work too.

WOW Crackers! I could not find that rate anywhere. AirTRAN and Southwest were about the same for our trip. I chose Airtran based on the replies from this forum.

My Monday departure didn't change at all, and is actually almost fully booked by the looks of things. However, the Thursday I am flying to MCO is the leg that went down. It went from $75 one way to $45 one way. The four tickets gave me the $120.00 savings. In fact, without the fees all four tickets were $496.00 roundtrip, and with the fees and taxes $586.00. That was down from just over $700.

What is wrong with Southwest Airline? I did not see the show and I am flying with them two times this summer. I couldn't pass up the rates. Could you pass along the info? Thanks!

There is nothing wrong with SouthWest Airlines. I watch the show all the time and IMHO all of the problems that have occured on the show are problems that have plagued all
airlines. Occassional lost bags, large people that are asked to purchase extra seat, denial of drunk passengers, people getting bumped from an over booked flight etc.... These are all things that happen at all airlines though. I love Southwest and I love the show!! So don't worry you will be fine.

I just saved another $120.00. My airfare went down again from originally 158 rt to 124 rt to now a whopping $91.00 roundtrip per person. I now have $240.00 credit with southwest that is going to pay for my flight to Vegas in January.

SW they were great and the shows I've watched about them

IMO showed them bending over backwards to accomodate people.

Let's face it if you get to a gate 3 minutes before a flight

after the gate agent called that flight # over and over, you

should'nt expect your seat to still be there.

The guys in question were across from the gate drinking at

the bar watching the whole thing. The gate agents knew they

were at the bar but the guys would'nt come to the gate after

repeated pages for those flying on that flight to come to

the gate. So the agents gave some other people at the gate

(I guess they were on standby?) their seats and booked them

on another flight. <font color="red">Wow, keep checking those fares they may end up paying you to fly </font> Congrats!
