If renting with National in the near future, check your rates! I check everyday to see if the rates have come down for our rental for 10 days. Started Monday off at $241. Went down to $224 on Monday PM, and now down to $205 this AM. I'm doing the happy dance

Re: If renting with National in the near future, check your rates! Marnie, that's great! If you don't mind me asking, what discount codes do you use to get the rate? Or do you not use any? I'm going to check and see if my rates went down for July!

Re: If renting with National in the near future, check your rates! Chris, I'm an Emerald Club member, so I'm using the generic code for that one, and then using a coupon for $20 off from the Entertainment book and using the National code of EWEB. My rates didn't start dropping until about 6 weeks before we were ready to leave. Seems that now, the closer you get, they are reassessing inventory and reducing rates, whereas you used to get the cheaper rate the more in advanced you booked. I'm going to keep checking until the day I leave. My DH says I won't be happy until it's free

Re: If renting with National in the near future, check your rates! Yep, I rent with National each time we go. I check everybody's rates, but National is always the lowest. Then I call back periodically (I usually reserve 4-6 months prior to our trip)and check the rates again. When we get down to 2 months, I call back every week. I usually end up $100-150 LESS than the original reservation! Persistance pays!

Re: If renting with National in the near future, check your rates! Thanks Marnie! I used one of the Contract IDs from Mousesavers and boy...it is a nice discount compared to everything else I've tried! Maybe I will try to combine it with other codes! Hey...any money saved is more money to spend on the Mouse!!!

I was able to apply the coupon for a 2-car class upgrade and now am saving $30 off plus a bigger car (now a standard so we can pack those extra purchases in the car too )! Thanks so much!! |
