Hotels on I-75 between Ocala and Orlando We are driving to Orlando in December. I am looking for a clean, inexpensive place to stay after we leave Disney on our last day. We plan to stay in Magic Kingdom until its closes around 6 p.m. and figured we would drive for an hour or so which would put us south of Ocala on I-75. Has anyone stayed anywhere that they would like to recommend?? Also, any places you would never stay again in this area?

Re: Hotels on I-75 between Ocala and Orlando Hi Montimouse and welcome!! I haven't stayed in that area, but I wanted to recommend a book we've used, I think it's called the exit directory or something like that. It lists all lodging, restaurants, etc. by exit number on interstates. That might help you out. Or if there is a certain chain you like, look on their website to see if they have one in that area.

Re: Hotels on I-75 between Ocala and Orlando Welcome, MontiMouse! As I have never traveled I-75 I can not give you specific hotels. I can try to give a few suggestions, however. Are you a memeber of AAA? If so, request a Trip-Tik for your trip. It will not only give directions, but it will list hotels along the way that AAA has rated. AAA will also provide roadside service in case you need it on your trip. not to mention discounted tickets to WDW, SeaWorld, and Universal Studios. You can also do as MichelleC (thanks Michelle) has suggested and stick to popular name hotels. Also, like Michelle ssuggested, there is a book by Mark Watson called "The Next Exit: USA Interstate Highway Exit Directory" that may be of some help. MapQuest on Yahoo may also be place to find directions. Hope this helped!

Re: Hotels on I-75 between Ocala and Orlando We stopped in Ocala but didn't spend the night. But if I remember correctly there were several of the "name-brand" hotel chains there. If you can make it to Ocala you shouldn't have a problem finding a nice place to stay!

Re: Hotels on I-75 between Ocala and Orlando Thanks everyone for the suggestions. We are not members of AAA but I will see about getting the book you suggested. We still have a while before we go but and I have researched some on Expedia and Travelocity. There is a Ramada and a Comfort Inn as well as several other popular chains that looked okay but since I am not familiar with the area I figured I would check with others before reserving something.

Re: Hotels on I-75 between Ocala and Orlando I do remember seeing the Comfort Inn on Expedia. I will take another look at it. When are you traveling?? We are leaving Louisiana in the early evening on December 12 and will spend the night in Pensacola which is a little over 5 hours from home. We will be at Disney from December 13 through December 20. The night of the 20th is when we will be staying in Ocala. We plan to stay in Magic Kingdom until it closes which should be somewhere between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. and then drive to Ocala. I can hardly wait. We have been planning this trip since January. It is my daughter's 5th birthday and the trip is her birthday present from my husband and I. We leave for Disney when she gets out of school on her birthday, the 12th. She has no idea we are going! [ 09-17-2002, 09:09 PM: Message edited by: MontiMouse ]

Re: Hotels on I-75 between Ocala and Orlando The book you need is called "Along I-75" by Dave Hunter. You won't be disappointed! They also have a web site, but the book is GREAT for the trip.
