Will Mears deliver me to a park or do I have to go to a resort *and*

if I do, can they drop/pick up at, say Grand Floridian, even though I'm not a guest there? Just trying to maximize my park time for my short hop!!!

Re: Will Mears deliver me to a park or do I have to go to a resort *and*

I have no idea what Mears will do? But I can tell you this and I know Quick Silver is lurking on these boards, so I am going to tell it like it is. They will charge you extra to go from the resort to the Grand Floridian. We will be charged $110 to go from our pick up stop to our resort and beyond. So we have decided to be quick ourselves and cancel out that extra charge by doing the activity another day. So, if Quick isn't quick enough, they will realize that I prefer to keep it under 95. Just a thought. But I would call them and see what they say. I think my TA said Quick would charge us 45 to go from our resort to Sea World. But they also said their rates are going up faster then the gas prices are. We are renting a car for that one weekend and letting Quick pick us up and dropping us off. It does pay to shop around. Good luck.

Re: Will Mears deliver me to a park or do I have to go to a resort *and*

Let me rephrase...will Mears take me from airport to park or only airport to resort and if to a resort only (no extra charges), will they take me to the resort of my choosing (monorail) or only to the one where I will be a guest? I will only have a small carry-on and want to go and leave as straight from the MK as possible.

Thanks!

Re: Will Mears deliver me to a park or do I have to go to a resort *and*

I think Mears will only take you to a resort. The reason I say this is that if they enter one of the parks parking lots they will have to pay the fee. This would also go for any towncar company.

I say have Mears drop you off at the GF and then you can start your day riding the monorail to the MK. Once you get of at the MK, drop your bag in a locker, then stroll down Main Street to the nearest Mickey Bar cart (located in the hub) and stare at Cindy's House.

ETA - I don't think Mears will care if they drop you at a resort other than the one you are staying at. Anyone can go to each resort so you shouldn't have a problem.

Well, you don't have to pay me for the Mickey Bar, just the CM behind the cart. For some reason I am having a very difficult time convincing the CMs that I am the Keeper of the Keys to their carts and should be given free Mickey Bars.

WIll you eat a Mickey Bar for me?

Think about it, Mears doesn't know what resort you are staying at! They only know which one you tell them to deliver you to!

Re: Will Mears deliver me to a park or do I have to go to a resort *and*

The other reason why I can see Mears not taking you to a park and only to a resort is that you will have other people in the van with you. Well, that and the fee that it would cost them to get you to the park. I think that Tiffany will do it, for I know that my friends used them to get from resort to IOA, but again that was from a resort not from the airport.

Re: Will Mears deliver me to a park or do I have to go to a resort *and*

Don't think of Mears the same way you think of Tiffany and Happy and Quicksilver. Mears is a bus service; they have a set schedule and set routes which cover all the various resorts. As far as I know, they don't deliver or pick up from any of the parks.

The reason you have to call ahead of time for a pickup from a resort is that if they don't have a pickup scheduled at a particular hotel or resort, they don't stop there; this saves time and fuel, helping Mears to keep thier prices reasonable.

Fortissimo is right on with his idea; simply have Mears drop you at one of the MK resorts and take the monorail into the park. On your way back, you call Mears to schedule a pickup, and they will pick you up wherever you ask them to (whether you are staying there or not, whether that's where they dropped you off or not).

Mears' service is pretty good, but I hat being at the mercy of someone elses bus schedule, which is why I always rent a car. With multiple stops, Mears can take close to an hour to get you from MCO to your resort.

I tend to agree here. Some of this info is really not the business of everyone reading here and should be pm'ed or emailed. I think.
