Portland, OR to Orlando

Help! My son is picking up my grandson at 10am on Saturday, Aug 16, and they will be flying to Orlando to meet us there, flying back to Portland on Aug 23. I've checked Hotwire, Cheap Tickets, Travelocity, Orbitz, and some of the airline web sites and the cheapest fare I could find is about $370 per person. They can't leave Portland before 10am and that will put them into Orlando quite late, but that's no problem as I'll be there to pick them up at the airport.
Anyone have any ideas on how to get a better airfare? If you use Priceline, do you have a choice of time of day to fly?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Portland, OR to Orlando

Hi, Suflay!

$370 is about what we pay to fly out of Denver, so this may be the best price you'll find.

If you use Priceline you will be given the cheapest flight with no choice of your departure time. This is the main reason I will not use Priceline.

Most airlines will increase their prices if you book within the two-week window, so make sure you don't wait too long. The $370 might jump to well over $800.

Re: Portland, OR to Orlando

Robin - Thanks for the reply. I just went to Bestfares.com and found a fare of $238 on both American and Continental with 7 days advance purchase. I don't know why those fares are so much cheaper than the other web sites, but I'll check into the details and find out, that's for sure.
