Cost of Taxi from Airport to WDW Hi there, we're busy planning our first visit to WDW, and I think we'll probably take a taxi from the Orlando Airport to the WL at WDW (easier, quick, and I think perhaps cheaper than a town car?). There's only my husband, our 6 yr.old, and me so it won't be a problem fitting us all into one taxi. Has anyone done this before and can you tell me how much it was for a one-way ride? Are there other options that I should consider instead? Thanks!

Re: Cost of Taxi from Airport to WDW Actually, taking a taxi can cost more than a towncar. Most people here on the boards take a towncar due to the cost savings. Some popular towncar companies are Tiffany's Towncar (go to www.allearsnet.com for an on-line coupon) or Quicksilver (which I just used and liked very much). Go to www.quicksilver-tours.com. The meet and greet service you get with a towncar driver is very nice and professional and the comfort of the towncar is worth it....and you will also get a free 30 minute grocery stop if you wish. ![]()

Re: Cost of Taxi from Airport to WDW Thanks for getting me to take another look at town cars! When I was reading the prices posted on the message boards before, I was assuming those were one-way and not realizing they included the trip back to the airpot! You're right, the town cars are cheaper I'm now officially booking one!

Re: Cost of Taxi from Airport to WDW When checking prices be sure to remember that WL is a MK resort and most of the town car companies charge extra to deliver to a MK resort. We are staying at WL Jan 9th-15th and the cheapest towncar company we found was Prestige Towncars for $80.00 round trip. According to their web site they charge no extra airport, toll, or resort fees and it's a flat $80.00 to all WDW resorts. Tiffany's was $95.00 and QuickSilver was $100.00. I hadn't heard that much about Prestige so asked for reviews on several sites and everyone I got back was positive. Not a single bad report on them. The two drivers mentioned the most was Raphael and Ray, so I plan to request one of them. The only other town car that came back with only positive reports was QuickSilver, but why pay $100.00 when you can pay $80.00 and use the extra $20.00 to tip the driver.

Re: Cost of Taxi from Airport to WDW I'm glad you're booking a towncar! It really is simple!! I Tiffany Towncar! Plus the $8 coupon in the Passporter makes it another great deal! Just take a look around and go with the one you're most comfortable with.

Re: Cost of Taxi from Airport to WDW Yep, Tiffany is the way to go for us. We've used them four years in a row and loved them!! I've taken a taxi when I was there for business. Every taxi driver I had didn't know his way around Orlando, much less WDW (I had to tell him where to turn in to drop us at the right spot of Downtown Disney!!). Plus, they are expensive, as others have mentioned. As for using other "budget" towncar services--I wouldn't! We talked with a couple this October who had a towncar driver (found on the internet) who didn't have a clue where they were supposed to be dropped off at--ended up taking another hour to get there because he ended up driving to Fort Wilderness instead of Wilderness Lodge. Pick someone with a lengthy history of trips to WDW.

Re: Cost of Taxi from Airport to WDW The biggest cost danger involved with using a taxi lies in that a meter is running. Should you encounter traffic, the meter continues to tick away. So if you get stuck in traffic the trip gets more expensive. With towncar companies, the price is a set fee.

Re: Cost of Taxi from Airport to WDW Denise, you've definitely made a wise decision that you won't regret. A town car is truly the way to go (leastwise for now until the Disney Express shuttle service starts up in May. Add me to the list of folks who use and recommend Tiffany Town Car. Joy
