My sister and I are going to attempt a road trip to WDW later this year. The 16 yr old is not the problem. My sister is in the middle of adopting her step-brother who is 2 yrs old. The last time he went was by plane. This time it is a 15 hour drive. He hates a car seat. During his first formative months his birth mother was with a truck driver and left him in a car seat for hours at a time. No if he is in a car seat for more than a half hour he is screaming at the top of his lungs and remains screaming until the car stops.

We are driving at night for the first part of our trip and the drive home is during the day. Any suggestions for the drive home? I thought about getting him up extra early and taking him to the pool for some water time then a big breakfast and he might take a nap for an hour or so. We take him out for a little longer each trip but always at the half hour make he starts screaming.

We need suggestions!

P.S.

His birth mother also used drugs and we are holding out hope that he will be able to deal with whatever comes from her abuse. His older sister which has been adopted by my sister seems to be fine.

Wow! That is a great site for my 2, 4 and 11 year old. I can't believe there were so many things I hadn't thought of! I appreciate it.

This is fantastic!! I will be sure to visit a "little bit" everyday before leaving on July 20th! I am sure that on the trip from Montreal to Florida I will be very thankful for these things to keep my 7 yr old busy!!! God bless you!

Cool site! This will be great for our 10 hour trip. (With a 14 and a 7 year old.) We always do well every trip, but new things always help. Thanks again.
