| Portable CD Players and Airplanes?? Does anyone know if you are allowed to listen to a portable CD player while on an airplane?? I don't do so well with take-offs and I was thinking that might help. I don't want to purchase one though until I know for sure that I can bring it with me. Thanks a bunch! |

| Re: Portable CD Players and Airplanes?? You can use them, but not for a certain time period before and during takeoff, and same for landing. There's usually an annoucement that all portable devices and cell phones need to be turned off, and then they tell you when you can turn them back on. |

| Re: Portable CD Players and Airplanes?? All portable electronics need to be turned off as soon as the plane leaves the gate and cannot be turned on again until the plane reaches a certain altitude (?10000? feet). Cell phones must be off for the entire trip and can be turned back on when the plane is at the gate. Some airlines do have music you can listen to through the headphones. I actually find that closing my eyes really helps at take off, especially if I'm tired. Diane |

| Re: Portable CD Players and Airplanes?? Basically, the first 10 minutes and last 10 minutes of the flight, you are not allowed to use them . . . once you are above 10,000-12,000 feet, you are free to use them and the crew will make an announcement when you're able to turn "approved electronic devices" on! | Re: Portable CD Players and Airplanes?? Yes you can use them but as stated not when you really need them. I too am not crazy about take off...my tip...take a deep breath, close your eyes & think about your favorite Disney attraction! See yourself on it & before you know it you're up, up, & on your way. |
