| Re: Chicago for one Please! Hi Robin,
Glad you are going to Wrigley. It's a great old park! Bring a very warm jacket just in case as you will freeze your behind off if the wind if off the lake. Especially since our temps are not over 65 this week. And if your not too cold, have a frosty malt for me
I am concerned about your hotel. YOu will be staying 5 minutes from O'Hare which is NOWHERE near Union Station much less downtown Chicago. You may be several miles away from a train station (Metra commuter line) or "L" station that can get you into the city. But it would be about 1/2 hour trip. You are also in the suburbs , close to Rosemont, and it would be very hard to get around without a car-go shopping- out to eat. I would double check with the hotel and see if they offer transport to the train stations if you want to stay out there. I know the Hyatt O'Hare is within walking distance to the "L" (Blue Line). You also don't want to stay near Union Station (I don't think there is a hotel close by). After work and on the weekends, the area is fairly dead. Not a lot of restaurants/shops stay open.
If you want to stay in the city (downtown), I always try Hotwire and look for hotels in North Michigan/Waker drive area. Right now there is a 4 star for $139. Which isn't too bad for the city. You can never go wrong with a 4 star downtown.
Good Luck and if you have any questions, PM me! |
