What do you do when you can't find a travel guide for a destination you plan to visit?

I google a destination to death to find the visitor's bureau, chamber of commerce, and local businesses with websites.

I often also use Roadside America - Guide to Uniquely Odd Tourist Attractions and VirtualTourist.com - Travel Guides, Maps, Photos, Forums, Deals, more.

Do you know any other invaluable travel sites?

I usually do the same as you - I look for the official tourism website for an area, although I have to be honest, some places we go to don't have great websites. I'm struggling to find good information on Barcelona at the moment. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find out how much admission to the main sights there is!

I like Reviews of vacations, hotels, resorts, vacation and travel packages - TripAdvisor for finding information on hotels etc. in areas outside of WDW. It gives ratings from other travelers so that you have some idea of what the places are like. I actually booked our hotel in London off of Trip Advisor.
