Anniversary in Vegas

My DH are sending the kiddo to the grandparents for a couple of weeks and going to Vegas one weekend for our 5th anniversary in Aug. We have a dinner reservation at Emeril's New Orleans Fish-house. We are of course going to check out all the casinos, and as much of the free stuff as possible. We were planning on taking quite a bit of spending money and really living it up, maybe even seeing a La Cirque show. Unfortunately, our tax rebate wasn't as hefty as we thought it was going to be so now we don't know. Any suggestions on some cheap but not too cheesy Vegas entertainment?

I just noticed Rita Rudner in your signature, if you like her, she does a show at Harrah's I think.

We also went to see Wayne Brady I think the lowest ticket was like $50 pp(I have forgotten sorry) but the theater is small so even in the back you can see well. That was at the Venetian.

OH and also check out the half price ticket places. There is one in the showcase mall near M & M World and then in the Fashion Show Mall. I think the same day tickets go on sale at 10:30 am. Sometimes you can get great seats for shows like Phantom and come of the Cirque shows.

DH & I went to DelMonico's(one of Emeril's other restaurants) to celebrate our 5th anniversary of being together. It was expensive but well worth it. I am sure you going to love the Fish House.

If you get a chance and are intersted in Mexican, there is a great Mexican restaurant in Planet Hollywood Hotel(formally the Aladdin) that isn't too expensive called Yolos. Great food.

I am heading back there next month, was just there last month, so getting to be a pro.

If you're going to do a Cirque show, I can recommend O - we didn't go for the top price tickets. I think we went for the $99 ones (that's how much they were in 2006 anyway!) and got the first row of the second section of the theatre - the seats were awesome and we agreed that we wouldn't have wanted to sit any lower down, as we wouldn't have had a proper view of the show. I hope that helps.
