Post Planning, Planning A Pre-Pre Trip Report(s)

There are so many places to visit and explore that I have decided to plan out my next few years of vacations. This is of course not written in stone and things may change as I go along. It's just so much fun to plan and have things to look forward to. Up until I have paid in full, I can change things, move things around and do add ons. FUN FUN FUN

Here are my plans so far:

July 26 - August 2, 2008: Cancun, Mexico - 7 nights at the Hilton Resort. I have the room booked, but waited to purchase the airfare. Now I’m upset with the airfares and not sure what to do. If I can’t get a good deal I might have to cancel the room and drive to Disney World instead. Which would not be the end of the world for me, but... The thing is, that my Dsis purchased her airfare months ago and got a great deal. If we don’t show up she is going to be very upset and disappointed with me. This trip is for my twin nephew's 21st birthday celebration.

October 2008: Las Vegas - 4 or 5 nights at Excalibur (My Dsis’s 50th Birthday Bash ) We are going to do a concert, a comedy show, rent a limo and see the Vegas lights at night, and maybe a trip to the Grand Canyon. I am a little bummed because we had originally planned on a Disneyland trip for her birthday, but she changed it to Las Vegas?! She too loves all things Disney, so I don’t really understand. But, the birthday people get to pick where we go!!

January 2009: Las Vegas (again) - 6 nights at the Grandview at Las Vegas Timeshare (My DS’s 21st Birthday Celebration ) I can't believe that my child will be 21! Where did the time go

July 2009: Portland, Oregon - 4 to 7 nights staying with family (My niece’s wedding) This should be a lot of fun and interesting to boot. My whole family together for a wedding...what could happen? Just because at the last wedding (1) my bridesmaid dress was made inside out - no joke (2) the rental car rolled down a hill and hit several other cars (3) the bride caught the groom smoking dope the night before the wedding and the wedding almost didn’t happen (4) a friend of the bride’s got her hand broken by getting in smashed in the door of the limo on the way to the church (4) the priest was stinking drunk and we had to find a replacement (the wedding “again” almost didn’t happen (5) they delivered the wrong cake... I could go on and on. Funny thing is, that the couple (my DSis and DBIL) are still married. But, I mean what could happen?!

August 2009: Walt Disney World/ Disney Cruise (August 22nd Western Caribbean) - I'm still up in the air as to which resort to stay at prior to the cruise. I’m leaning towards AKL. We usually do 4 or 5 nights at POR with park hopper passes, go on the cruise and then do 2 or 3 nights a Universal hotel. I’m debating as to what to do this trip. The older the kids get, the more time they want to spend doing things like Universal and Sea World. I like just sticking with Disney. This time I think we will let people go there own way and just meeting up for meals and/or family recreation. The little Searacer boats are a blast when you get the whole family involved. The Hoop-Dee- Doo is another thing we like to meet up and do together.

June 2010: Europe - Italy, Greece, England, Ireland, and maybe Scotland (Family vacation with my siblings)

August 2011: Possibly a cruise on the NEW DISNEY SHIP!!!

2012: Australia, New Zealand and Fiji - (25th Wedding Anniversary Dream Vacation)

That’s as far out as I’m going to go. This gives me a lot of research and planning to do, not to mention starting a savings account.

What do you all think of my plans so far All comments, suggestions and/or advise welcome.

I think those plans are awesome - and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one planning so far ahead! Maybe we'll see you in 2010 when you're over here?

I think it's a good idea to plan ahead like this - if you don't you may never get to do some dream trips because you would never get the money together - they would just stay a "pipe dream".
Oh and that last family wedding - with the exception of the broken hand incident which sounds too to be funny.
