| Shea Stadium advice? We will be in Pennsylvania, and considering driving over to Shea Stadium for a game. Any advice on the best transportation? I've heard it's difficult to drive to the stadium. We know absolutely nothing about NYC so we're complete dummies here! How far is it from Philly? What transportation options are there from that area?

| I would take public transportation Check out this link The Official Site of The New York Mets: Ballpark: Take the Train to the Game Maybe take the train up from Philly and then the train or subway to the stadium?? It's about a 2 hour drive (if that) from Philly if you're going to drive it!

![]() We took a trip to Yankee Stadium last month with a bunch of families in the boys' baseball league, and it took two hours on a Sunday morning to travel door-to-door via motorcoach. If you're going by yourself, I'd suggest driving to Trenton, parking at the train station there and then hopping on the NJT train from there into NYC Penn Station, then take the subway over to Shea. This is what we do when we day-trip it to NYC. You could also take the train from Philadelphia, but you'd have to transfer from the SEPTA R3 Trenton train to the NJT train at Trenton heading to NYC. Amtrak is way too expensive for the direct Philadelphia-to-NewYork train, in my opinion.

| Driving to Shea Stadium isn't bad at all. We're Yankee fans but have taken in a lot of Met games and it's easier driving to Shea than to Yankee Stadium... it's a nicer, safer area. The drive should take around two hours and parking's a breeze. It's probably cheaper and more convenient to drive and have your own car since the subways are pretty crazy after a game. Have fun!
