Question Kings Dominion, VA

We are going to VA to visit family at the end of July. We're thinking of spending the day at Kings Dominion.

I am a little concerned as on their calendar it lists "Church Youth Days" for that week. Can anyone shed some light on this? What are the crowds like in July. We are specifically looking at Tuesday, July 29.

How is the WaterWorks Water Park? I think I would rather do that as I’m afraid Kings Dominion will be too crowded and HOT, HOT, HOT.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!

It shoudln't be any more crowded than usual

The Kingsfest, which is a christian music festival that we have gone to in the past does crowd the park, but its dates this year are July10-12, so that is not going on during your visit. I would say christian youth days is one of the better group days to go on, much better than say UAW, or any other number of groups.

Have fun, its nice.

We went to KD last year and enjoyed it - had not been there since 1977. We all enjoyed the water park and the main park itself was also alot of fun and brought back alot of old memories. You will enjoy it - give yourself 2 days if you want to go to both the water park and amusement park.
