| I'm sure it's a lovely town, but what is there to do in/around Waterloo Iowa? We will be there this weekend for a gravestone dedication ceremony on Sat morning. The only way to get a hotel room was to book 2 nights so we won't head home until Sunday a.m. What is there to do in Waterloo in an afternoon? I know there's an Irish fair in town this weekend (thus the hotel issues) but that's not really our thing.

| They have one of those state tourism departments that makes everything look like it deserves a special trip. The littlest museum gets a glowing write up. We all know that's not necessarily so. We leave Friday. I just was hoping to find a local or recent visitor who could point me to something worthwhile. Hanging out by the hotel pool isn't my idea of how to fill a day.
