Maryland Passporters ?

I'm heading to Columbia next weekend (Cloumbus Day) for a soccer tournament. We're wondering if the Inner Harbor is worth going to. I was also wondering if there are any goo corn mazes around there for the girls. I heard shopping is great at Arundel Mills but I don't want to spend time shopping when I can do that at home. Any info. you can give on things to do would be great. Thanks!

Oh I'd go to Inner Harbor. Arundel Mills is okay, but there's nothing there that you can't get at outlet malls in NY and PA. Inner Harbor has things to see and do and shop and eat.

How much time do you have? You could also get in a quick visit to Fort McHenry, which is where the Star Spangled Banner was written. It's a very nice park. They just had the Michael Phelps Welcome Home fireworks from there.

Clarkland Farm

This is pretty close to Columbia and it's pretty cool. Enchanted Forest is a former "amusement park" that seems like everyone in the state of Maryland went to in the 1960's, including myself. I think the Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater House is there, with a dutch door, which my brother swung (sp?) open and knocked me out on the ground.

It's all good!

Or, the Maryland Renaissance Festival is Crownsville. Maryland Renaissance Festival - Home
That might save you a little traveling. Take a look at my 'Aquarium' TR for some ideas, as well as: Any advise about Baltimore, MD?

We HHHHHHAAAATTE the RenFest. It's down the street from us, literally. And traffic on weekends SUCK because of the RenFesters, in costume, that sit on Route 450 waiting to turn onto Crownsville Road. Yesterday was especially bad because the weather was so nice, after last weekends big rains. And it's expensive. We've gone twice in 20 years. Been there, done that, don't need to do it again for a long time.

Love the aquarium! Get tickets online and use AAA discount if possible.

If you are planning to be in Maryland for the weekend just be aware that Saturday the 11th is the Baltimore Running Festival which includes the Baltimore Marathon. While the Inner Harbor is nice, next Saturday will be especially hectic with runners, their families, etc. I love that weekend in Baltimore except for the 4 hours I'm trapped in my neighborhood since it is on the Marathon route! Traffic around the Inner harbor and Ft Mc Henry will be tied up for hours because the marathon starts and ends near the inner harbor, Just and FYI.
