Talking Halloweekends at Cedar Point...

We are going to spend Halloween at Cedar Point. My DD has a friend who's family goes every year. The dad's birthday is Halloween. They invited us to go with them. We both got rooms at Hotel Breakers, it's a package that includes tickets. I am not a "haunted house" person at all!! I don't want my fear to rub off on my DD's, 14 & 16. Our friends told us you can go around the "scare zones". I am wondering if I am going to be scared to death?? Has anybody gone? How bad is it?

I've never been to Halloweekends, but we took our first visit to Cedar Point this summer and loved it! We stayed at Hotel Breakers also - so close and convenient!

I was there last weekend and it was the greatest time! You can avoid the scare zones if that is a concern, actually for anything scary you have to enter into either a) a haunted house or b) a haunted walk thru, called scare zones. You don't just happen upon the areas. I will say I went thru all 3 haunted houses and the one by Disaster Transport (Pharaoh's Secret) was more funny than scary, the one in the back of the park (Undertaker U)was ok, but the one in the front of the park (club blood) was INTENSE! I went thru it with my oldest 2 DD's and one of their friends.....2 of us came out crying. The girl ahead of us actually, ummmmm, well, wet her pants. It was soooo awesome, we went thru it like 5 times. We were soooo loving it, but it was, like I said, very intense, not for the weak at heart!
Glad you are going on Friday. Fridays and Sundays are low crowds, Saturdays are way BUSY! Sunday we were there and it was walk on....maybe half hour wait at the longest.

You will love it!!! Have a great time!!

Oh how I miss Halloweekends and Cedar Point. (I used to live in NW Ohio...)
I am a coward when it comes to Haunted Houses, so I just avoided those. The scare zones were not really all that "scary." Just be ALERT. It is people in costumes that run out at you with noise makers and such. I actually just carried a small pen light flashlight with me in case I became too "freaked out" during my walk throughs.

The atmosphere is a lot of fun -- as are the decorations. If Aaron Radatz is there doing a magic show -- see it! We have seen him perform many years there, and he is WONDERFUL. There are several specially themed performances throughout the park.

Halloweekends is my most favorite time of the year to visit Cedar Point. Bring clothes to layer, though -- it can get very chilly by the water!!

Enjoy!!
